Wonderful start! I like the yellow ignition wires they make the detail stand out better once in the cowling. I agree with Joe the weathered look is fantastic! Thank you my friend. I might eventually change the wires to bronze, but not sure yet. Bronze would stand out too, but not as well. Beautiful start!! Beautiful engines. They look awesome!! Thanks Kyle! What others have said. Great start, engines look fantastic Appreciate it! The engines look great already! I totally resisted the urge to buy this at Nats…and now I bet you ruin my resolve 😂 you’re going to make this look so good no one can resist buying one and building it 🍾 Lol, it is a very daunting build for me. I’ve got quite a bit done on the interior in regards to the PE. I would compare it to doing a detail set for a 1/350 ship The B-17, my nemesis kit, started many finished few....this one has my weary eye. Would be cool to just sniff the fresh plastic if nothing else. I think once I get past the interior, it will be smooth sailing. Each section of the interior is a new set of challenges and headache so far lol LOLOLOL Would love to build this but at $1166.00 Canadian I think it may be a tad out of reach! I will have to live vicariously through this build. Item list: Eduard B-17F 1/48 - $280 Eduard B-17F Brassin Engine Set - $90 Eduard B-17F Brassin Bronze Undercarriage Legs - $50 Eduard B-17F Brassin Resin Gun Set -$26 Eduard B-17F Exterior and Undercarriage detail set - $60 Eduard B-17F Waist Section Set - $35 Eduard B-17F Radio Compartment Set - $70 Eduard B-17F Nose Interior Set - $40 Eduard B-17F Ammo Feed Chutes Set - $35 Eduard B-17F Wooden Flores and Ammo Box Set - $40 Eduard B-17F Bomb Bay Set - $50 Eduard B-17F Landing Flaps Set - $100 Eduard B-17F Cockpit Detail Set - $40 +shipping and assorted duty, taxes, etc - $250 (at least) Yeah very very expensive. If Eduard had not provided the interior bits, I don’t think I would have bought them. Once sealed up, they will be virtually gone forever. Very cool! Looks like you’re gonna be quite busy for a while😎 Yep! I spent quite a bit of time on the PE last weekend and have got a good bit done for the interior. I’m hoping I’ll possibly get onto painting the interior this upcoming weekend

The cockpit is shaping up. I painted a section of the floor to mimic wood as that area was not included in the “wooden floor and ammo box set” Additionally, I added the cushions to the chairs after noticing pretty much all reference photos had them. I’ll still be adding “ US Air Corp” to the seats The other sections of the cockpit have received their main paint, but haven’t done the detail paint work yet. I’ll be adding wires based on where they should be per reference photos.

That pit looks great so far bud. I like the addition of the wooden floor and am quite surprised that the update set didn't have that in there. Seat padding is a nice touch too as is all of the levers and detailing of the console. This is indeed shaping up nicely.......verrry nicely.

I didn’t care much for the back cushions I made. This evening I added some Vallejo putty to them and extended the bolsters. I also painted them much more crisp. They look substantially better now in my opinion. I am going to write on the seats “U.S. AIR CORPS”

That whole IP area DOES look good Keith, and I also like the touch ups that you did on the seat cushions. LOTS of busyness going on in that area of the build man.
