I started this M1A1HC Abrams a couple of weeks ago. I have almost reached the painting stage and I thought I would share the progress with you guys. The kit went together fairly well as long as you take your time. I have found few instruction errors, no real problems. So let's get started.

Next steps: In these next steps I don't remove the paint from the previous applications. This step the paint mixture is now two to 1 Desert Yellow and Khaki. I'm beginning to shade sections of the turret and upper hull. In this step after using half the paint in the cup I added Tamiya Deck Tan up to 1 half. Still panel shading. Continuing the same process added Tamiya Deck Tan to lighten the shade. Until finally reaching a 3 to 1 ratio Deck Tan for the highlight coat. I'm ready to start detail painting and adding washes. Stay tuned.

I love all these layers of different shades of color Terry as it’s adding lots of depth to the paint work.

Turret with wash applied and surface dry brushed. What did you use for your wash on this?

I like how the dry brushing is bringing the details up.
