There are prolific builders here at MSC and I am wondering about something. What do you do with your finished builds? Do you have display cases? Shelves? Donate/gift? Currently, any of my finished builds sit in plastic tubs, away from dust. That works for me because I don’t build in mass. And until I retire and maybe have more time to build, they will probably remain there. At some point I’d like to get a vertical display case where I can display some of them.
So, what do you do?

I have display space in large basement,I have two custom cases about 20 yrs old,and three used cases I've picked up over the years.Im not real productive, the most 5-6 a year.I've tossed a few older inferior builds over the years,so I haven't come close to filling them. There is space to add more shelves if I need to.

Mine cover almost any flat surface I can squeeze out of my wife. Unfortunately they are not enclosed and some are VERY dusty. I try to give them away when I can but I build faster than I know who to give them to. Living room My bathroom (main one is the wife's domain) My bathroom again Rec room Spare bedroom Other spare bedroom

Wow, Tony and TCoat have some neat displays going on. So I'm posting to let you know you are not alone, Steve. I'm stuck too. Like Tony, in my unfinished basement I had models displayed in an old brass and glass display case I somehow managed to inherit from my domestic reorganization. Unlike Tony, I only had one and it was full. I didn't move the display case in our recent move, nor do I have a basement. I have most of the stuff from the curio sitting on shelves in my den, but no more room. As slow as I build, it probably doesn't matter anyway.

The funny part is that although I do have dedicated shelf space in both the rec room and the living room NO visitors ever even glance at them. It is like they don't even exist. The ones in the bathroom, especially the glass cabinet above the toilet, get commented on all the time. Guess it is they have to look.

I have a large display case in our bonus room that I built 30-odd years ago that I keep my airplanes in. My wife calls it The Monolith. I’ve been having to retire older models as I finish new one. Some of the retirees go in large plastic tubs. Here’s a pic I took a few years ago. I recently bought a small case from IKEA for my cars. I had previously kept them on a corner of my desk, so it looked like a 1/24 used sports car dealership. I can get four or five more cars in it before I’ll start having to rotate them out. Ben

I recently got back into the hobby after almost 20 years away from it. So I have only completed 4 kits. All of which my son has requested be displayed in his room. I have NO idea where I will display anything I build for myself but I need to figure it out because I have two kits on the bench that will need a place to park. I really like the display that benb jsut posted above. I may have to look into that. It would take me a number of years to fill that up. Man, some of yall have a tremendous amount of room. Very cool.

It is fun seeing your solutions and like what Project 510 said, so cool when you have room for it all. That is part of my problem too. I have a lack of room but, that is not entirely the problem. I just need to make it a priority and make some room. Hence, a vertical case. Probably, something I can stick in a corner of my living room where I can enjoy looking at it while I recline in front of the TV.
My hats off to you guys for all the builds and how you display them. I love it.

TC, I am smiling here. I love how you have them throughout the house. Someday, when I die, and I get my mansion, it will be filled with models I never got around to building.

These are Rubbermaid shelving from Home Depot. I expanded adding plexiglass in between - helps with visibility. As you can see my wife's dollhouses are starting to take up some real estate.

That’s a problem I need to work on. I’ve long since run out of space in my small display case , which does not even keep the dust off my models (but that’s another subject) . like you I’ve been putting my extra models in Tupperware containers until I can find a better place.

Wow, yall got some space,....well, some of yall, lol. Personally, I've never tub'd a build nor sold any, but given one away. I hate parting with my builds. I have one huge curio cabinet that I've recently recovered the lower half, built my wife one, so now I have more space. I don't think I'll ever have enough room for all the kits I've got, so I'll fret that when the time comes, lol. Then again, I've got all the wood milling tools to build another cabinet, so who knows. Now, if I could only find space for another cabinet, that would be swell.

I wish I could share a picture but a plastic tub is not very interesting. Lol.

I’d give nearly every single build I did away if I knew people that wanted them. No one ever looks at them but me anyways. So I beg, borrow and steal any flat surface or cabinet space out of my wife. lol. Have to grab a couple photos

Thanks Kyle. The photo of my man cave is a couple of years old now. The empty shelves on the right side are now starting to fill up…
The ceiling fan is a tribute to my son. He’s in the Air Force and his first unit of assignment was the 23rd Wing, The Flying Tigers.

Some great looking displays everyone! 95% of what I have built as of late I donated to a veterans museum. Here's a couple of bad pictures of them as they were displayed there.

This is the latest pic I have of my cabinet. I built this about 5 years ago. The glass shelving I had from my previous display in Connecticut. Its 8 feet wide so I have plenty of room. I share a spare bedroom with is also my wife's office and my MIL scrapbooking room.
