Nice project Fermis! I got to go up to the last remaining Emily when it was at the Tokyo Maritime Museum. I was so mesmerized that as I drifted through the landscaping I did not hear the groundskeeper yelling at me to keep off the grass!
I love the Emily’s hulking lines. Now if only Airfix would release a proper Sunderland to keep it company. And I keep hoping Hasegawa will make a new tool kit of the Emily’s descendant the Shin Meiwa PS-1/US-2.
Hey I noticed you went full-boogie with the PE. But did you get the resin guns? 😜

Interesting....definitely something different. You also appeared to have cornered a large chunk of the worlds PE market!
Seriously though, good luck with the build!

Glad to have you all along for the journey! 😜 Would be cool to see in person!!! The ref book is based on that one. There's pics all along the way, from when it was taken apart, loaded, shipped, and restoration. EXCELLENT ref!!! I have an Italeri Sunderland. Looks like it can be made decent. (I have very mixed reviews with Italeri) I'm so lacking in space right now, I have nowhere to put the Sunderland. This being a commission build, I don't have to worry about space to put it! The resin guns are in the pic!!! I haven't gotten real far yet...trying something new! This thing is huge...as if ya didn't know! The big ole slab sides are smooth(aside from panel lines), and monocolor green is boring. To liven things up a bit, I decided to take a shot at replicating stressed skin texture. When it comes time to paint, I plan on a fair amount of chipping/peeling. For the texture, I ran a round tip/cone shaped grinding bit with the Dremel, along the rivet lines...sanded the slight grooves with progressively lighter grits, to knock out the rough scratch marks left from the Dremel. Tough to get good pics, that don't exaggerate the texture or it not even show. Next will be the tedious task of putting in a bitrillion rivets!

Not much has gotten done, as I have been stupid busy...(theme for this year) I believe I'm close to slinging some paint. With the various PE sets and tediousness of said sets, it is not a very "inviting" project to work on.

'Bout time you surfaced again. And as nice as your PE additions look, I do believe no PE is going to see the inside of mine!
Neal, if Jeremy's kit is the same as mine it comes with a full set of crew.

That looks great. I always love how the kit really comes to life with PE and the satisfaction of looking at your work before you "sling" paint.

It may not be very inviting build to work on but you sure made 'er look good after all of that PE form and install was done Jeremy. I also like what you did with the exterior/ skins on this bird and am looking forward to see the "bitrillion" rivets. lol Even in 1/72 scale, this thing appears to be huge!
