Aoshima LB Walk Murcielago

hey everyone

Yeah I know, it's another car from me, but I just finished this one off today and despite a couple of hiccups, I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I'm giving this one to my son who is a mad Lambo fan. I'm sure he'll like it.

Undercoated in Gundam metallic red and then over coated with Alclad Candy Red with SMS 2k clear coat. I did have a mirror finish on it before I started the final assembly but I managed to twice leave a finger imprint into the front top bonnet panel and that was due to the lights not fitting as they should and me pressing too hard in the wrong place. I was so proud of it then too up until that point.

That is the PERFECT color for a Lambo! Excellent work sir! I'll be watching for the outdoor pictures of this one.

Nice! Lamborghinis need wild colors. Where Ferrari is like automotive Puccini opera, Lambo is Twisted Sister.

I built the Murcielago race car and had a problem with the headlights, too. Seemed like the headlight buckets had too much play in where they fit into the body. They can be set so they interfere with the clear cover and you don’t find that out until it’s too late to do anything about it. I found the same on their Aventador, but I knew to check this time.

You nailed the stance on this car. Looks terrific. Is that the stance out of the box or did you modify it in anyway? Also, agree on the paint. That will SHINE outside. Ive wanted to buy many of the LBWK kits, hows the fit on the Aoshima? Great job!

Thanks guys! Yeah, the stance is OOB. You can change it to what ever you like really. The fit it sometimes OK and sometimes a real PITA.

Thank you very much guys. I know there are a lot of quality issues going on here - especially at the back, but this kit fought me a lot and I also just noticed that the rear right diffuser is hanging on by a a thread of hope. Gotta fix that

As threatened, I took some day time shots whilst there was a ray of sunshine out today. Somehow, I get that feeling that this was the only ray I'd get for the rest of the week - right on the last few days of my holiday too.

Man that turned out to one terrific auto build Simon!! I'd sure as heck would be happy to have that bad boy in my display cabinet!! 

Depending on how far down into the paint/ clear the fingerprint went, you could wet sand the top with some 4000 then 6000 then 8000 and finally 12000 grit paper? You could polish it all out after you wet sanded it and viola....the fingerprint should be gone.

thanks guys. Yeah Joe, it was pretty deep down and I had to sand the heck out of it to get it as flush as I could without taking off paint. He won't notice but I'm still disappointed that the amazing finish I had obtained prior was marred so badly. Oh well.

I don't know man...It looks good from my house!!! I mean, really good. Very nicely done. Don't be bothered by the fingerprints. You cleaned em up right nicely. Don't feel bad about it either...Every one of my paint jobs has cat hair in it!!!

LOL - I know exactly what you mean. Its either a hair from one of the animals or dust specks. so annoying, but I'm getting better at getting good finishes - slowly
