Captured 1:48 Tamiya Focke Wulf Fw190 A-3

So here's my first entry for the Butcher Bird GB:

- 1:48 Tamiya Focke Wulf Fw190 A-3

- Eduard Masks

- Quinta Studio 3D Interior

- LF Models Captured FW190A decals

It's been a while since I did a 1:48 scale fighter, so I have to get used again that the pieces are this small

The "captured" decals, Quinta set and masks should be arriving on Tuesday

This one is going to be a lot of fun to watch come together Jan. Being a Tammy build it's almost like a guy could just drop the box on the floor and the pieces would fall together into a completed model.

Now I have to wait to continue this one until I get the Quinta set (but I'll start my second Butcher Bird )

Nice start!! Never used Quinta but heard good things about them.

Also have one set of the Eduard version (Space?) and another set from someone else.... If done well they really look very good indeed.

  See what I mean? These kits practically put themselves together. lol

Quinta is like crack.   Cockpits were my favorite part of building aircraft.  The old monogram kits had great IPs that you could really detail, but the Quinta 3d relief is just fantastic.  I'm torn.

Nice Choice Jan.  Going to have to try one of those Quinta detail sets myself one of these days. Looks like you are off to a good start. Now, if you will excuse me , I have to get back to my  Dora build.

I got the Quinta set today
So I finally was able to continue with the build.
I should be able to put her in primer tomorrow and start paint on Saturday

Cool. And this set of Quinta decals looks WAY nicer than the ones for my A-8. Why?!? LOL! Looking great so far. I'm curious as to the captured scheme you're gonna do. Bring all those bright colors on.

So tomorrow a bit of wet-sanding and start adding some color to this Butcher Bird

You’ve just gotta love those Quinta sets! Beautiful interior work on this one and now you’ve got this in primer. Looking forward to seeing color coats going on Jan.

Just finished wet-sanding, adding another coat of primer and wet-sanding again

So tomorrow clean it with degreaser and start with pre-shading in black and afterwards a first coat of green

Good evening everyone (It's past 10 PM over here)

Yesterday, I pre-shaded, and today I added two coats of USAF green.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take photographs after the pre-shading 

Tomorrow I've got a date with some masking tape and a few coats of yellow and red paint

but now it's time for bed (already past midnight)

This is continuing on to be a great looking build so far Jan. I'm looking forward to seeing the decaling go on this one.

As far as bed time goes......sometimes I feel like a little kid staying up past my dang bedtime when I get going on my builds. It's just funny to read that as I'm sure most of us fall into that category. lol
