Very cool photos of a great piece of history! I'm getting really inspired now to start tooling up for the 1/32 F-105G I recently got from Squadron.

Wow!! That’s been neglected a bit hasn’t it? Very cool though. It was at a museum in Texas that is closing It’s in the field next to the museum temporarily. There is already another aircraft in the restoration facility getting repaired. When it’s completed, the F-105 is next in line for a complete restoration makeover. They are letting me assist in the restoration.🤯

That’s really cool! The Thud has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid. They’d fly very low over our house when we lived near McConnell AFB in 1968. The first model my dad helped me build was a Revell F-105 at around the same time.

You're gonna need a bigger display case That's no kidding. Just for a change of pace, I have started cutting major parts from the sprues...starting with the fuselage. It nearly took up the entire width of my cutting matt...and that's only part of the total length of the fuselage! It's OK though. I bought a big, brand new house that is pretty much a blank slate still. Can't think of a better way to decorate it. Oh, and I was pleased to find out that Trumpeter actually got the alignment of the panel lines right between the two halves. I was actually kinda shocked that they weren't all longitudinally displaced from each other.

That's pretty awesome. And fun you get to help restore. Always amazes me when you know there's guys who know where all those parts and doo-dads hookup. Sharp memories.

That's awesome that they're going to restore her. Hate to see a museum piece looking that rough.

Most outdoor displayed aircraft tend to weather terribly unless there is a good maintenance budget for paint... Pima has some superb aircraft outdoors, but the Arizona sun, dust, and winds take their toll...

Biggest surprise first time I went there was how small the B-52 is. I'd like to make the hike to Pima and the boneyard some time.
