I thought I'd post this one for giggles ....
This has to be somewhere between 25 to 30 years old .. except the wheels, I plonked them under there a few years ago while contemplating a rebuild. These old JoHan's are close to curbside kits with metal axles, but they are classics now (I guess most of you guys know all this anyway) but I have solid plans to rebuild this in the future.
I'll likely try keep close to the colour it is now and use these Pegasus(?) wheels, and hopefully it comes apart ok, not my best gluebomb effort ... thankfully . Yes I know this old paint job is very orange peel-ish, it was a rattle can job ... not my finest work , but I thought it was worth a look at anyway. Critics and criticisms welcome ... it's getting restored anyway

I love looking at the origins of our modeling in pictures like this and I've got two in my collection that are completely untouched to show where I was as a kid. My son has asked the question in the past if my skillset has always been what it is now and I'll pull out one of these originals to show him that it indeed is not that way. I think it's just awesome that you posted this for us here so thank you for sharing this with us and I'm looking forward to the rebuild when you get to it Tim.

It DOES have a cool stance! I'll be watching for your re-boot of this one down the line.

I love old raggedy Johan kits. lol. I’ve snagged a few when I’ve found them for realistic prices rather than the astronomical ones you mostly see these days. This is a super cool old build and I love seeing people post their old builds like this. Love the color and the interior. Can’t wait to see it after its restoration too!

Yep, there's something about these old JoHan kits, they had some unique subjects. You're not wrong about the prices though, I was watching a guy (Tim) on his YouTube channel, "Throttle Power", he does model car shows and swap meets and you can see that there's still JoHan kits out there for sale but at stupid prices. I noticed they are pretty much the same price they're asking for them down here, hence I'll just restore this old build rather than shell out for those prices. I'll at least have photos of the old build for historic sake. You might tell that I don't mind rebuilding my old builds because I don't feel they are that good to save and to also save on display/storage room.
I have a JoHan Sox & Martin '71 Cuda that I rebuilt, maybe I'll post that up next? Cheers TJ

Tim from Throttle Power goes to some great shows. Both model shows and car shows. I think he must be not too awfully far away from me as oftentimes the shows he goes to are relatively nearby. But yes, the prices you normally see for Johan kits these days are absurd. You can still get lucky and get them for normal prices if you’re in the right place at the right time but the market for them is pretty silly. Hope to see that Sox and Martin rebuilder too!!
