This old AMT kit has some issues. It took me all day yesterday to finish this one up. The front wheels were rubbing the front edge of the fender so I removed the wheels, which are pegged on the chassis and moved them back about 1/8" so they were centered. Since I broke the pegs, I had to drill out both the wheelbacks and the chassis and use some plastic rod for new pegs. The decals including the pinstripes were numerous and it took me all afternoon to get those applied. The only details I added were the wheels from the parts box, mirror foil for the exterior mirrors, and some painted embossing powder in the interior floor and package shelf to cover the six deep circle thingys. The engine is pretty basic and I didn't want to waste a pre-wired distributor or any other aftermarket parts on it. The paint is Dupli-Color Pure White and the interior is Krylon Satin Black as is the black on the body. So this one is a prelude to the much nicer Revell 71 Mustang that I am going to build as a regular 71 Mustang Mach 1 (the 007 kit) with a few additional parts from the parts box and decals from the Revell 71 Boss 351. Thanks for looking! 😎 I just noticed a a small pinstripe on the left side must have fallen off, so I'll fix that.

Beautiful result!! I know this old kit has its share of issues but you sure whipped it into shape!! This is probably the nicest example of the AMT kit I’ve seen to date!! Incredible work.

Very nice job. Looks great in white. Old AMT kits can sure be a bear to get together.

This is one of those builds where it's the modeler and not the model that really counts towards to final product that you have here John. Just an unbelievable turnout from this nightmare of a kit. You good sir.....have prevailed.

Very nice work, you made an ordinary kit look great. I wouldn't have noticed the missing decal if you hadn't said so either.
