so i started a new job at this Toyota dealer about three weeks ago or so and i will be honest with you all i hate it from the way the system is set up to the flat rate pay and to the parts and service director (he has called me by three other names at this point) not going to go into the rest of it all.........
so wendsday i get some shocks to start the job by doing the drivers front shock and bend down to pick up my socket and pop my back goes out so the foreman send me to see my dr i tell the other guy where i am at in the job and tell him to re-instal the drivers axle nut because i take them out so i dont pull the axle out of the cup on the transmission side.
so i go back to work on sat and ask him if he did put the axle nut back on and hear is where it gets good his answer was i never told him that
so i tell the service writer get the customer back to the dealer now or better yet just tow the car back some time passes they tell me gab what i need to fix it on the side of the road fix it and bring the car back to make sure nothing happened ect... so the shuttle driver drops me off in some parking lot with the car. i tell the shuttle driver i need the jack better than the one that comes with the car for doing the spare called the shop they told me all of them were being used at the time and to go ahead and use the spare tire jack...
move the car to a flat level spot set the parking break put a block of wood behind the rear tire and remove the lug nuts jack the car up per the owners book remove the tire and re install the axle nut and and go to grab the tire that is to my right before i could react the car fell off the jack and onto my leg how it fell off the jack is the million buck question
so stuck in the parking lot messed up knee and car i rolled the fender with my leg and the other damage that was done from falling off the jack ect....it took them over an hour to come and get me if i were hurt real bad i would called 911 trust me.
at this point leg is messed up cant put weight on it .
thought we were going to the er first they take me to take a drug test first then to the er no broken bones just a nasty bruise.
so they take me back to talk to what ever his name is (the boss)he calls me by the wrong name again
and writes me up for the axle nut that was left loose and then goes into how i am new to Toyotas really?so i told him to go ahead and fire me but he did not (sucks)and told me that you dont have to remove the nut to do shocks so i asked him do you know how to to shocks?answer no i have never been a mechanic.the shop foreman gets asked the same question his answer yes you can but he does not at this point to me its all blah blah....this way that way
then i bring the point up that i only took the car apart and if i would of done the job non of this would be going on
so that tells me the car was never driven after the shocks were put in by the other tech really that sounds safe right.
you would of known by the wheel moving after you put the wheel on and when you test drove it the out side brake pad holder would be dragging on the rotor (and it was)
so that is the service you get at the dealer factory trained tech over at that place yea right they only thing going on is the customers getting ripped off by this place and sold stuff they dont need that is another tale.
