Oh very nice! The molding look very good on this with even nice scale eyebrows on the portholes.

Hey Anton!! Great to see you here too - welcome aboard (pun not intended). Mate, you so have to post those other historical pics here too - there's builders here that will appreciate it more here than the other, heavily car focused site.

So very cool! Had no idea they changed it so often. Guess the crew really didn't have much else to do but paint.

Oh man, I had no idea there were that many liveries. Pretty cool that you actually get to see the location firsthand.

Great images on the Tirpitz’s camo schemes Matt! The USN went thru thru similar phases of ship camouflage schemes depending upon the phase of the war. When the submarine threat was thought to be more likely, the dazzle schemes of Measure 31/32/33 were more prevalent. When the aerial threat was judged to be more likely, Measure 11/12/21/22 were the most commonly seen.

Great work so far! I like the portholes open, very different look. Have you decided which scheme you want to do after looking through all those options?

Thanks for all the comments, i appreciate it! It’s great to have others to discuss with. Great work so far! I like the portholes open, very different look. Have you decided which scheme you want to do after looking through all those options? I am thinking of the wedge one worn in 1942 maybe with winter gray on the decks. But then again wood would look good.

That's some VERY good imagination by the Germans to blend that in with the surroundings. Could you imagine that thing going out to see like that in the middle of the ocean? I can only imagine with the opposing forces would be thinking if they saw a bunch of houses out in the middle of the sea.

They might not attack, they don’t want to destroy the village

Wow, this is such amazing and incredibly informative thread! I'm so thrilled to find this! I am overwhelmed at the quality you're putting in this model too. Unbelievable mastery here!
I always wondered about that raid on Spitzbergen and why they sent Tirpitz (and others as indicated) to shell the place. It always made me wonder why they didn't do that more often with Tirpitz in other areas. I'd love to know what other ships accompanied Tirpitz to Spitzbergen.

Minor progress with my brass work.. Only got a couple of hours in yesterday, but its the time of year when i am mostly tiered, it gets dark so eraly and bright so late this time of year. Tomorrow my other PE sheet will arive from poland so i can stripp some more styren of the smoke stack and replace it with PE. Some of these must be tiny as the hed of a needle!

Continuing with the great work on that smoke stack Anton. I can't get over that PE sheet with those what looks like thousands of teeny tiny parts. That's enough to drive a fella completely bonkers right there.

HEhe YEs i will see how i manage but the twezers and my magnifying light come in handy! And the 5k CA glue helps allot, makes it possible to move the PE before it cures hard but flexible. I revised my work a bit since i took a closer look on pictures i have and then i found a Revell PE that had this pattern so i tried to follow it since it seemed to be right acording to pictures i have. So i belive the top to be mor or less done, migt ad a rim around since some of the PE are a bit above the edge.
