Kaiyodo Jashinhei

I could not resist getting into this amazing looking kit.





Unlike most anime kits from Japan these days, the Jashinhei is a glue-together kit, without a snap fit pin/socket to be seen anywhere!  This actually helps speed construction, as I don't have to drill out the sockets to test fit parts.  Speaking of fit, the overall fit is pretty good.  Filler will be needed here and there, but so far the seams look easy to manage.



I am considering drilling out the beady little eyes and replacing them with clear ones back painted in bright blue. 





I'd better start labelling the body segments to keep track of what goes where!

Now this is pretty cool! At first I thought it was missing a leg but now I get it. You definitely have my attention too!

The concept behind Kaiyodo's "Artpla" series is like a return to the great garage kits of the 1980/1990s, but in injected plastic.  The emphasis is on the form of the fixed-pose model, not moveable parts.  These kits are more like a canvas for the figure painter's delight.  Heh-heh, but I'm not much of a figure painter!  I am up for the challenge though, as I really liked the original resin kit.  I'm not sure if this kit is any cheaper than the resin version, but the fact that it is injection molded plastic means more of us can enjoy the kit!
