Good afternoon, Next project has arrived, 200mm figure sculpted by Pete Morton and what a lovely job he has made of it. 19 parts in all and very clean casting. Some large casting blocks to remove but should not pose much of a problem if one takes care. So here we go with a parts shot - and a couple of the head \ torso - This should keep me quiet for a little while More when prepared and undercoated. Tim

Good evening, Small update time. Cleaned up and first parts assembled, some held in place by bluetac, so this should give an idea. As can be seen a few imperfections but used liquid green stuff for the first time to sort those. Not sure if anyone else has used it but I found it to be effective. Next up first prime - Holts auto primer. This showed up further areas to work on and also the gaps when the tails were fitted. So out with the green stuff and then a dry fit of arms etc to see if all looks ok. Next up a further coat of primer then........... break out the colour More soon. Tim

Good evening, After what has felt like an eternity, update time. Basic colours blocked in, trousers about finished, jacket progressing and all headed in the right direction - I think! So here is where I am at present - Time permitting, more soon. Tim

Tim looks really good, very neat, do you add the shading when you have blocked in all the base colours ?

Good evening, Thanks for the interest and comments. Paul,More so now. I used to end up with what looked like a zebra and would then put washes \ glazes over the top to soften. Now I tend to go for the base colour, add high's and shadow and use glazes of the base to soften the transitions - I think! DF & CB,Thanks, I work on the principle of not giving myself more work to do than necessay Spud & Gary,Much appreciated - the colours will harden up in due course. For example, the blue is only a thin wash at present which will darken up as more washes are applied. More soon. Tim

Good evening, Best laid plans of.......... Paint did not key with primer and so back to resin and start again. My fault, to many grubby hand prints all over. So here is how things stand now - More after Euro! Sorry for the yellow tinge, daylight bulb has gone pop - more expense!!!!!!!!! Tim

LUIGI, Good question - not available through the outlet that I bought the lamp and everywhere else I have been, a sharp intake of breath followed by "never seen one of those before" seems to be the stock response. Need to quiz the tin'ternet! DICKY, Will be down on Sunday after Church Parade Tim

Tim, I found some time ago an internet source, but it looks like they're not producing daylight bulbs anymore...

That's a fine sculpted figure and the painting is so exact. Wow, I got a steady hand, but not that steady Tim. Looks great so far!
Cheers, Ski.

Good evening, Apologies for the long delay in posting. Daylight bulb problems resolved - bought a new lamp On the figure front, not such good news. Have had a problem with oily like substances creeping \ seeping through the undercoat and top coats and the paint coming away from the surface. Had a word with supplier and the upshot is that replacement figure was sent and now received. So back to square one and more soon. In the meantime, been working on preparing a bust purchased at Euro, so not sure whether to start a new thread on that, or get back to the Fusilier. So many decisions to be made More soon. Tim

jackwagon, No longer Nemo - morphed into Dr Who ;D Get enough grief working on one - two or three may well tip the balance and I sure don't want to go down that path. Besides, fills up the drinking time Tim

Good evening, After what seems like an age, back to the bench. ChrisB, Not able to keep figure MK1, sent back for investigative purposes Figure MK2 has arrived and after a little clean up etc this is how things stand, This time around the figure will be in sub assemblies, legs, torso etc. Such a large lump of resin requires it really. Looking back at MK1 pics, attempting to do it as a full figure with a pin in the head was not the best way to go More soon, well that is the plan! Tim
