Mirasado, Ash can be obtained from using "actual ashes" from burnt paper, cigarettes, cigars and what not. They are not easy to keep there shape with or with out a pigment fixer, so these would be one of the last things done on the build. This effect can also be obtained by building up different, similar colored pigment using a pigment fixer to lock them in place. Like Alex showed above, the off-white burnt ash can be a few different items....Different shades of paint, the thicked part of dusting effect, like AK Dust Efeects, stippled onto the surface randomly. A few others might chime in with the applications too soon!! Hope some of this helps a bit.

Well T has basically summed it all up. For ash from burnt wheels I use both pigments and cigarette ashes. For burnt , scorched paint different whites and grays. Don't forget the black soot on the burnt scorched areas.
Love the effects on that JP. The paint and weathering is a beauty

Todd meaning and name " Todd \t(o)-dd\ as a boy's name is pronounced tahd. It is of Middle English origin, and the meaning of Todd is "fox". The name possibly refers to a fox hunter. It remains a dialectal word for a fox in some parts of Britain. Tod is a Scottishnickname for a clever or wily person. "

Thanks for the photos with it i can see better: I'm a new modeller (head in confusion) so tell me if you use the two colors at the same time? And if not, do you have any method to start painting the (white) ashes ? I can see in the middle like a brown color (rust) line under and white on the sides. In the photo is like it´s all white, but probable it can be XF2 and XF55 ? Please, explain with details because you are my teacher now so, lets say..... first paint; first area; and so on...... thanks again for all Mirasado

Yes after the rust paint in the photo. If the rust paint was not the first one on the model (i think!)
