Great to see you have your mojo back eastrock for this build and Hey!!! what's life without a challenge or two thrown our way. Looking forward to the next installment. By the way took my first step over the weekend and cleared out my garage, next step paint my boat while it's empty and then on to painting the garage before I can get myself set up for modelling. Lot's of work to do before I even get around to starting on mine but mate you've given me inspiration to get on with the job. I've started to narrow down the look I'll be going for and I was looking to do some simple modifications. I wanted to seek your opinion on this modification for the kit and see if it's within the realm of a beginner such as myself to tackle. Check out the rear guards on this Corvette, would give the option for wider wheels on the back end.

I'll be hoping for a miracle if I pull this one off, it will be a slow process on this one will try to update as soon that I can. Good thing your cleaning out your man cave for a wider wheels you need to shave off some of the wheel well to fit the wider wheels, first stuff you need to get a replacement wheel set to dry fit on the kit, fujimi's wheel set sells 15" BBS wheels for 1/24 but for the 1/25 it be 16" converted. cheers!!!

Do you reckon I'd still need to cut the wheel well out if the guard was extended outwards. I was hoping it would be a simple case of cutting the guard along the top of the curve, adding some styrene strips and some putty. O'well a bit more involved that I thought.
I knew I'd also have to cut the rear bumper bar where the exhaust comes out and extend that to fit the guards. Plus I'll have to make another two tail lights, what's the best way to duplicate the rear tail lights ?
Here's a better look at that Corvette.

Thanks for the heads up on the wheels by the way eastrock. I had been looking at these Pegasus Wheels but to tell you the truth I wasn't too sure if they would fit because of the sizes 19" & 23"... although they are the closest match I could find.

Well done for sticking with it ER, you have a reputation for turning dodgy kits into real winners so I'm sure this will come out great!

Mence, Thanks a lot and I'm also known for not able to finish the kit lol Nemo, my friend thanks for the sacrifice I need a few more goats perhaps, the tub need a lot of re-work,completely will post pics later

What would be the easiest way to make a casting for those parts. I remember reading an article where a guy was asking how to replicate the car's emblem/badge, if I can remember rightly he was told to use aluminium foil to make the casting and then use thinned down modeler's putty to make the part. Has anyone heard of this technique before and if so does it work. I can't find that article again and I can't remember if there was a release agent applied but I'm sure there would of been.

Looking good eastrock you got that engine block spot on mate. Here's a picture of a 1956 Chevy Corvette engine for reference purposes. I've been looking for a LS3 6.2L Engine for my build if I go with that Pogea Racing Corvette, that is if I can ever find one but I don't think anyone makes a resin kit of that engine and I might have to buy another kit that has that engine in it. The only one I could find is the Revelle 2010 CAMARO SS Kit No. 4239 which is a much better kit than the one we have, so a bit of a catch 22 there but it looks like the only option at the moment. If anyone has one lying around that they don't want I'd be willing to pay for it.

Thanks Leon / Luigi, Much appreciated Exactly but still this will a good reference for others like us who have the 1960 corvette. I may get a much lesser problem kit... thing that easy to build with less issue and go straight with the paint booth Cheers!!
