here's the progress for the corvette, already remove the muffler, will be using #14 solid copper wire, still need a lot of hacking and slashing. also need to extend the chassis to the body discussion only still need some research on how close the chassis sticks to the body front and back and need to redo the wheel well on the front. Cheers!!

Update: A fellow member lend me his tube cutter and rotary tool to make work easier, question is I have to decide if I leave the deformed rear part of the chassis and cover it with epoxy putty or completely replace the part with 2mm styrene bar? comments are highly appreciated ER

Looks like the start to a nice looking exhaust there ER!!! Sometimes it's easier to replace the part than to modify. The lesser of two evils I suppose. Back at you with a PM!

Here's a little inspiration for anyone contemplating building the 1959/60 Corvette Convertible, not that I think it's needed for this car. To me it's the iconic symbol of American Muscle Cars but Hey!!!, that's my opinion. Here's a couple of walk around clips for the body work and interior.

Hi there, this was pass on me from a previous owner due his dis-interest on the kit, its build-able if you plan to do out of the box... most of the parts are molded into one... I don't mean to discourage you this kit has a lot of issues... that's why I plan to improve the kit, scratchbuild parts or gets some spares to other kits... because some of the parts are already lost lenses already blurred... if you plan to start the kit, save me a seat Cheers!!!

Thanks for the reply eastrock, Mate I'm a total novice to the world of modeling and I joined the forum hoping to pick up some tips from those of you who have far more experience than me. The last time I built any sort of model was over 25 yrs ago, a RC Glider (Brolga by Areoflyte) which remarkably I still have. As far as plastic models go I would of been in my early teens the last time I slapped one of those together (emphasis on slapped together I might add). I actually Goggled the kit after I brought it, in the hope of finding a build thread on it, when I come across a link to your's. To tell you the truth I wasn't able to find too many and your's looked the most interesting one by far. Here's a couple of links to what I could find if you're interested. cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/30/t/52958.aspxwww.modellversium.de/galerie/12-autos/8705-1960-chevrolet-corvette-revell.htmlYes! eastrock if I ever get the time to build it I'll start a build thread on the forum. I only just received this kit in the mail today and I see what you mean when you say it needs a bit of work... I definitely paid too much for it. Plus I dare not open the plastic bag until I start the build as most of the parts are off the sprue already, except for the chrome & clear parts which are still attached. The windscreen is very distorted as well and I can't see a review mirror in the instructions either so that'll have to be scratched built. Having said all that, I'm actually am looking forward to building it as it will be closest I'll ever get to owning one. So did you ever finish your build eastrock or are you still working on it. If so I know you were asking for photos of the chassis and engine - classiccarfusion.com/60-restomod-vette/www.corvettereport.com/corvette-odd-ball-shocking-naked-c1-fuelie-corvette/and this guy has posted three YouTube clips on a 60's Corvette restoration project which I hope will help.

Well I'm not a car expert, still consider a novice in this category. if you build it straight out of the box there should be no problem to it, you just need some putty to fill some gaps. if you check the chassis, the flooring and the exhaust system its molded into one. on my part I need to separate the chassis to the flooring, already remove the exhaust (will used copper tubing to it)as you can see the above picture, the chrome parts are already faded and bubbled, I still need to strip it and repaint it. well I hope to see your build soon, thanks for the reference it helps a lot Cheers!!!

Only too glad to help eastrock, I hope to see more on your build mate, as it was coming along quite nicely I thought. Plus don't be waiting on me to start, I'm still getting my tools together and I promised the wife I'd clean the garage out and paint it before I start building any kits. Anyway thanks for the help eastrock, I'll be keeping an eye out for any updates and I'll leave you with a clip you might enjoy...

Sorry to keep high jacking your thread eastrock, but I found this site which I believe could also be useful to you proteam-corvettes.com there are lots of great detail photos of Corvettes on that site. You probably have already seen the latest releases from Revell 1/25 D&M '62 CorvetteĀ® Gasser Plastic Model Kit & the 1/25 1962 Corvette Roadster 2 'n 1 Plastic Model Kit but if not.

Ok Guys, here's a bit of an update regarding with the corvette, I got some excess primer on the cup, decided to spray it on... to protect the plastic for further deterioration, due to the weather and age of the kit, it becomes brittle and yellowed, If I can pull this off... Demi-God Nemo might had struck me with his Guidance lol on the front fender need to be filled with liquified putty, to cover the damage from the chrome, its a slow process... the Dashboard needs to be extended on the shell which gives a visible gap when its finish Cheers!!!

Gotcha! I couldn't believe you weren't building anything. You can run but you cannot hide (almost). Great build, Ches. I'll be following

Looks like this one will present some challenges, but with the guiding light of Nemo's inspiration for you, you'll pull it out I'm sure!
