That's what I call a masterpiece. There's action, lots of details, yet it isn't overcrowded. If there's a fan club, sign me in

I like this one because it tells a story, but I really like Ski's "Texas Ranger and the Alamo" Vietnam Gun Trucks dio which he promised to post in his introduction thread. That one I like more because it has trucks with guns...simples Smudge

Congrats Steve, fabulous dio. I also just came across a documentary on one of the BBC channels the same day I bought the mag and guess what it was about- yup - Hue in 68! IUt was like watching a live action version of the dio... A stunning build and so very true to the real thing.

Aww... shucks Smudge,..ya let the cat outta the bag, but thx Bro. You're a real trooper and thx for the kind words.
That dio was a labor of love for the subject and the Nam era, and the guys who were. Luckily, after reading "Phase Line Green", I found Nick Warr lived 6 miles from me. Now, what are the chances of that?
After Nick verified I wasn't a flake, he took his personal time to make sure this dio was accurate to a "T". He deserves more credit than I can convey here, but Nick was intrumental in making this diorama come to life. It's one of those, "I couldn't a donit without him!", no joke.
The scene depicts the most accurate account of the actual event, so If I missed anything I do apalogize for that. The guys who were there said it's on target, especailly the fog! It was a fun build and taught me how important research really is, if and only if, you care to get it accurate.
I know 10yrs sounds like a long time, but have you etched out plaster lately? Oh my, now we use blue construction foam, lol. Go figure.
Thx again for the kind words Guys, and no fan club here, just sniff more paint and glue them fingers together most often, that'll do! Lol.
Cheers for now, Ski.
P.S. I'll post pics shortly, Smudge will never let me live it down if I don't, HA!
P.S.S. Special thanks to Rick Lawler for pointing me in the right direction.

I know it's a diorama with the 48 as it's subject, but when I look at it my eye is always drawn to the two figures front and center!
It's a great story piece that I for one will use for reference in the future
Keep them photos coming!
Regards
Mack

I got to meet Ski and see this in person at the IPMS Seattle show this year... It was even more impressive in person. Great job. Shawn
