Ok, this is something a little different for me. It’s been over 25 years since I built a car model. I’ve been strictly armor and figures. However, Thanks to a certain individual here in the forums, I kinda have an itching to build a rat rod. My father and I restored 5 old car and trucks, so I am very familiar with the old Fords. We restored a 1931 Model A pick up (which I still have), a 1931 Model A coup, a 1929 Model A roadster, a 1935 Ford Pickup (which I still have) and a 1949 Ford Pick up. We also rebuilt a 1941 Ford pick up, (it was in a pile of parts when dad bought it). This is the kit I just picked up today. It’s a 1931 Model A. Plans are to chop it and slam it to the ground. I still have a ton of research to do, so please stay tuned!

I gotta rebuild the engine first cs Seriously, the kit comes with the ol model A 4 banger so I'll need to find a replacement. What do you guys think? Flathead ford V8 with finned heads, or a hemie with blower?

I need to figure out and source an engine before I can do a whole lot. Probably use an AM rear end as well. I started mocking up the front suspension while I wait for the engine and rear end.

Thanks Boots and Dicky. I think I'm gonna save the Flathead V8 for my next build. I think this one's gonna get a 427 with a blower!
Ol CS makes shure I get my daily dose of rat rods on face book:)

This Rat Rod build and that video reminds me of a "study" a hot-rod magazine did to see what would get more attention in California, a white Lamborghini or a Rat Rod. They drove them both side by side, on highways, side roads in and out of parking lots, to the beach. Guess who won ? I'll spoil it for you............the Rat Rod. Wealth cannot compete with originality, and this build will be original. Cheers Eh!
