Awesome work Guy. That's the secret , applying layers and sealing with light misted coats of paint, fixer etc. It's mixing techniques and building layers that will give texture and depth to a model.....looks like you've mastered this G. Well done.

Love your work Guy. Can't wait for you do do a wrecked tank someday, that would be great to see. Of course I (we) would expect to see that as a magazine article...hint hint.

Rob I'm flattered but I'm afraid I'm not your calibre as a modeller. One day I hope to be experienced enough to go for a wrecked piece of armor, then I will do the best I can to show it kinda magazine-ish.

Hi Guy, this again is lookin' very sweet! I love the body of this car, you are using the technique which Adam Wilder calls 'the Speckle Technique' these days very succesfully. Saw you use it on your Pz38(t) for the first time and like it ever since!
The seats look very neat as well, just impressive. Glad you are posting on how you did it, thanks for that!
Cheers

Hey Wout, this isn't the method I followed on my Panzer 38 G. Now I chipped the top paint layer to create the rust (dry pigments dabbed in oil paint wash under top layer).
Best regards. G.

G. aha, I thought you used the speckle method as well on the 38t because I noticed the microchipping on the paintwork...so I'm wrong ey ;D Cheers

Thanks my friends, the Admiral is a joy to paint and weather, inside and outside ! This is how far I got today : The doors aren't glued onto the model, I still have to weather the leather (weatherleathering o yes !!!) and paint the chromed handles. Still a few more touches to go on the rust... Best regards ! Guy, not the dogwhisperer, I am the weatherleatherer !

Dicky LOL, I knew this would sound wrong mate ! May be it's better to add a few words more. Before I applied the pigments I brushed on a wash of Raw umber, pigments were then dabbed in. I used AK and Mig pigments to create the dust layers. I also sprayed on a local transparent mist of Buff and Dark Earth, to give more grip to the last touch of dust pigments. Chrome parts were finished with Revell Aqua Silver (it was in my reach lazy b...I am).
Dan, thanks man you're too kind, I'm new on rust effects and I know people who proove to be real rust wizards ! I keep telling that all credits go to Rob, he wrote some fantastic howtos on the subject and I'm glad I've experimented on them.
ChrisS, thanks, I have so many ideas for the Opel, a diorama topic will pop up soon.
