Hi Paul!! Not 100% but I am remembering someone using oven cleaner. THis would remove the paint back to the plastic. I will try and find the article unless someone chimes in here with either a better way or a confirmation to the OC.

Hi Paul, I've successfully removed the the TS paint by soaking the kit overnight in a washing powder solution. I use Persil but I bet any would work. Mix a saturated solution, ie until the powder stops dissolving in warm water then simply submerg the kit and leave overnight. The paint should wash off or only need a light rub with a brush and the surface is grease free ready for another try If that fails, oven cleaner it is

watch out with the oven cleaner stuff though. If you leave it on for too long it also disolves CA glue, ruined my first Afrika Tiger with that. And primer paints won't come off using it
Cheers
