Hi Guys, Here's a few of the older works in one run. You may be able to guess, the Nam era is one of my favorites. These kits are 120mm figures, 1/9th, 1/10th busts and two Super scale 200mm figures. All were painted in oils except for Galland. His flesh was painted the old fashioned way, enamels, back in the day. His coat and trousers were my first experience with oils. I never went back nor looked back. Oils just work well for me and I play with them and tweek them all the time. The Verlinden 200mm figure has too much orange flesh tone created when using burnt sienna, raw umber, but I left it as is. It's another one of those live and learn experiences. My highlight method has changed since then, so we no longer have the problem of color wash out or over baring tones. Cheers, Ski.

Thx Gents, glad yall like em. I'm in a figure rut of sorts right now, so I'll add a vehicle every now and then as needed. I sure do like Large Scale figs though. Excellent work !! The second bust is my fav ;D ,Im an oil man myself I cant really get to grips with acrylics . A little tip for the flesh ,if you add a tiny spot of Aqua or peppermint green to the flesh colours it kills the orange effect caused by the burnt sienna ,a tiny touch of prussian Blue will do also . Chris. Bingo Baby! Thx Chris, needed that info. I hadn't heard the green or blue aspect yet, so thx greatly, adding that to my kit bag now. Good to hear from a fellow oiler, we gotta stick together man, lol. Cheers, Ski. P.S. Chris, that second bust, "Sarge Knows", was built upon a spoof after I gave it an oven cleaner bath. The oil tones were still present in light form and looked pretty dang good, so I built upon that and continued. Not a new method, I just never give up on a figure and this freak result worked out well.
