Hi Chris, I absolutely love this build, this type of thing is very easy to feck up, with the many metal and gloss parts to finish, but I have to say buddy you've nailed it I bet your customer was over the moon with it ;D Thanks for posting her up

Now that's what I call a unique subject! Very nice work Chris, building a "clean" model is often harder than a dirty one and you've nailed this one perfectly.

Bill,ChrisS,Spud...thankee kindly for the comments, they are much appreciated...Dicky...I have to confess, you lost me as soon as yer said Fowler.... ,I only knew this was a Garrett, cos it said so on the boiler!!! Steve,Wouts,Pete,Mal,Lui,and Guy.....Cheers fellas...It is rather unusual,eh.....and these kits are increasingly difficult to get at sensible prices!!!! I'd already built this beauty once, and the missus wrecked it,so a hasty search on evilbay,by chance picked this one up,at sensible money ;D ;D(Mate had given me the original!!!)

Finally something that doesn't come with weapons. Real nice change of scene and I really liked it very much!
Were those actual brass or painted that way?

Andy,I have to confess to not being an 'expert' on these things, but The main roof supports may well have been made from wrought iron, and gilded, and a lot of the tubing etc may well have been brass, and copper. This is a 'Showmans' engine, and These were kept in pristine condition,as far as I know. We have a lot of steam fairs over here,I'll see if I can get some piccies from my mate,if your interested

Hi Chris, nice work mate! Shiny things are not usually my cup of tea (all that shiny scares the pants offa me!), but I can definitely appreciate good workmanship when I see it. Lovely job! Cheers, Sam

Hi geebee, this kit is great fun to build, but also, can be quite difficult to get hold of now. There are a couple on ebay at the moment I think,I had a bid in on one of them, but let it go cos of the cost, which can get prohibitive. There are no locating pins on the kit,so a lot of dry fitting involved,to make sure everything's square. Robbo,as I said earlier in the thread, this was built for a friend a couple of years ago,and I had no piccies of it.So I just borrowed it back for a while
