Gary....sorry mate, sorry for any confusion! ...It wasn't intentional.I have scanned paint instructions from my MkI Tammy Spit, which may help you with colours, and it shows what I was waffling about... The black section on the wing can extend right along the fuselage as well,or just use Sky for all of the underneath. The MkII,and IIa,were basically the same exterior wise to the MkI's,so I believe either scheme could be used. Here is a piccie of a restored MkI,I took at Duxford, last year....

Hey Chris, no worries my man! Great pics! I love the half Black/white bottom, would that apply to a Mk.II? I got to say...i hope the other 2 kits i have arent like this...the gap work on the wing roots SUCK A$$!!! NIGHTMARE it is! Ive gone as far as im gonna with it as my seem lines are dissapearing with so much sanding. Anyways, here-tis. I can move on now and paint comin'soon! Gary

Gary, I did a bit of checking, and the MkII,externally was the same as a MkI,the main difference was a more powerful engine, and the fact they were built in Castle Bromwich, and not at Supermarines factory in Southampton. From what I can tell, the black/sky colours were used by some squadrons up until 1941,on MkI's and MkII's,until the arrival of the predominant MkV's,prior to the Battle of Britain. But I'm willing to stand corrected,if anyone knows any different ;D

I am very saddened by the news that we lost our beloved friend Gary to the wingy world! Gary will be missed...
You will be back building armors just in few days, right? LOL Looking real good... I am not into wingy things but I do enjoy follow WIPs so please do count me in.

Geez Andy, you know how to give a guy a heart attack! Read the first line of your post and did a double take! Had to go back and re-read it, luckily it wasn't what I first thought and Gary is still with us! Anyway buddy, nuthin' "lost" about it, wingy things is the place to be! ;D Nice work on the pre shading Gary, for someone who's not tackled a wingy before, you are doing a cracking job my friend!! ;D Cheers Sam

Oh, Gary, I forgot to mention that the camo on the upper surfaces was sprayed using rubber mats as a mask, so the edges were sharp. Yesterday I tried to find the issue about the spit undersides, but coudln't find it. Looks like I left it at the small house I have by the sea. Sorry

Sam- LOL! Sorry if I nearly caused you to have a heart attack earlier. I like to kid around... Gary- you are not alone... I have been feeling the itch to build something another than an armor so my next build after the Tiger will be a helicopter. Close enough to wingy thing, huh? ;D Again, looking real good especially beautiful pre-shading job and it looks like you are having fun too!
