TYP 175 Skoda RSO
Capricorn Publications have released a new Photo Manual No 14 on the TYP 175 Skoda RSO the Author is Petr Brojo , ISBN No is 978-80-87578-02-5 .
It has 40 pages in a soft cover and in the usual landscape format , all photos are in black and white and taken either in the prototype stage or in field trials.
Text is bilingual in Czech and English.
It starts with a short explanation of the development and production of the 206 vehicles , ending with a full detailed chart with all the relevant data.
The first part is all about the Prototype and its development . These are in close up detail and are very clear.
The next section has the photo file on the production run and show the differences between the prototypes and the series production. There is also black and white illustrations from the workshop manual, which add greatly to the overall information on this vehicle .
The last part is the scale drawings in 1/35 scale which again show the differences between prototype and production models .
This is the first book by this publishers I have examined and I am very impressed with both the layout and style, it is clear and concise .
A very welcome book to any modellers bookshelf
Post script : The last original vehicle was in a French scrap yard in the mid 70’s . I have no idea if it was saved or not.
