Today's theme is pointy things. Zacto AIM-9Ds for the Crusader And a big Fishbed I scored for cheap: The MiG-21 is my backup if I hit end of line on my other projects before awaited parts show up.

Nice one fellas some cool stuff you got there. Doog, in your avatar you're wearing some kind of magnifying setup, could you tell me what it is and if its a good setup ? I'm desperate for something that gives me better, clearer magnification. The headband type that I use is good but the optics could be better and that setup of yours looks like the sort of thing that would have quality optics ? I actually wrote a review of them: doogsmodels.com/2012/07/31/review-3-5x-420mm-dental-binocular-loupes/

Can they be attached to any pair of glasses or do they need their own ones?

They come attached to their own. That's a huge problem for me, at least. I have to use my onw glasses as I'm astigmatic and two pair of glasses are definitely too much for my nose...

Thanks a lot, I'll have to choose between these and the optivisors. I feel comfy with my visors, although their magnification and quality is not the best, so the optivisors can be the right ones, but these ones look very interesting... Oh, in the meantime I forgot to share what the postman brought me a couple of days ago:

Picked up a couple more things recently,...A really nice tripod for my DSLR,for just short of £18 inclusive!....The New Tammy Lancaster DB/GS kit, with pre painted perspex, the Italeri Kamov Ka-50(Hokum).....and a rather nice figure of Guy Gibson, from Mitches Models!!...I'll upload the pics,as soon as...(PB messin, agin!!!! ) This sucker extends to over 6 feet! I went to the SMMS show today, and picked up another couple... And last of all,the 200mm figure of Guy Gibson from Mitches Models, sculpted by Maurice Corry.....Me Likes!!!! Have to admit though,I was a bit upset...He looks nothing like Richard Todd!!! BTW...Does anyone know who could sculpt a Labrador called N.......?

jackwagon & Chris, Thanks for the comments. I have no idea how these things are judged, so to say I am pleased is a bit of an understatement - more like gobsmacked me thinks! Will have to give them a little more exposure on the tables if possible and also up my game for the future Either that or retire now... Tim

The price on the brushes (HP-CS and HP-B clones) was ridiculous. $36 for everything here. Including shipping. Now, are they any good?

Some recent purchases I use a lot of tubing from Albion Alloys, so I got this rather beautiful jig from them for cutting consistent batches. The other item is just the cutaway handle for my Iwata TR1. My hands don't work very well and this gives me a little more control over the AB when painting, otherwise involuntary movements in my hand tend to cause overspray. The other stuff is a gift from a very dear friend in the Antipodes. I've always fancied the Minenraumer, but was not expecting the other goodies. Bless you Jenny. Simon

Nice! I'll be curious to hear how you find that Albion jig. Could really use something like that for my upcoming Pup and Bristol builds.

Nice buy, imatanker . While I haven't bought anything hobby related for a bit (not including my EXO), something should arrive soon - a metal geared Savox servo for said EXO (the stock one stripped a plastic gear ). Soon....

Have been big into trading away duplicates from my stash lately - managed to gather up a REALLLLLLY sweet package for a few kits I probably wouldn't have built any time soon:
