luigi many thanks. yes i did spray the interior color first.
andy thanks.
leon thank you.
chris thanks, the glass (windscreen) is fixed as well as the rear parts. the sliding part is not permanent. just being held down for painting by white glue.
jackwagon many thanks.
john thanks.
overall like i said in person it looks somewhat better. i was just disappointed with the way it got like that. think i will look at the decals today, maybe.
btw sorry to the guys in the cr last night. overall took me about two hours to paint and then fix the paint.

Totally amazing! Have this kit and would never dream of how much detail can be added to such a small kit. Well done!

well here she is. approximately 400 pieces. 21 kit pieces, 3 resin. the rest are made up of styrene rod, tube, and sheet, soda can, wire, and putty. all told a pretty fun experience, although when i went to attach the landing gear i had a slight mishap, i broke off the prior lines. had to redo both gear. and so concludes my first start to finish build here on msc. comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. joe

Nice finish, but shouldnt the canopy slide on those rails on the side of the fuselage?

andy many thanks. i hope i can build off of this.
luigi thanks. was hoping no one would notice that. the fit for the clear parts was as horrible as the rest. four pieces, the piece toward the nose did not fit at all. i had to work it in to get it to fit. the center piece did not line up, notice the previous update. the piece would not match up with the front piece and would not fit over the rear part of the pit. i spent some significant time trying to figure it out. i was going to shim the nose piece but that didnt turn out very promising so it was scraped. my positioning for the canopy is based on yes it rides on the rails but at some point it has to drop down so it can latch into place. i wanted to give the illusion that was the point the canopy was.
again many thanks for following along and the kind words.

Nice trick, it's just I'm an old picky wingy builder and I tend to look at the glass parts first, as they tend to be the most difficult to tackle But this doesn't spoil all your great job.

Hey Joe...a great finish to the ole Hawk, mate!! ;D...As you've said, pity about the canopy, but it doesn't take away from the scratchbuilding/detailing you've achieved on this little beaut!! ;D

luigi as i have told another on a different forum. many many thanks. i have a different approach to that problem for the next frankenstein type build i do.
chris many thanks. about the canopy, we take the good with the bad. some like jackwagon just change the rules to avoid the bad but the rest take the good with the bad.

Fantastic work Joe! You should be very proud of the work you have done here mate, despite the fact that the kit canopy went pear-shaped! It is a very nice result indeed my friend, well done!! ;D Cheers, Sam
