Our local club IPMS Philippines had a 1 year group build that was entitled 'SEAL GB'.
What the joiners have to do is to make 4 models that corresponds to the areas of a SEAL operator which are Sea, Air and Land.
The joiners should at least make 1 entry each on the following categories: Ship, Aircraft/Choppers, AFVs and Figures.
This was my AFV entry for our local club's group build.
It is the Trumpeter PT-76 model 1951 1/35 scale.
The AFV is depicted during the 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion of the Czechoslovak Soviet Socialist Republic.
The kit is done mainly OOB with assortments of accessories to augment the monotony.
I painted the kit with Tamiya paints both acrylics and enamels while the lamps were painted with Testors Chrome Silver which i find very good for lamps.
Weathering were done with oils and pigments from Vallejo and MIG. Very minimal weathering were used as the reference photos showed most of the AFVs with minimal-to-no battle damage at all.
I'd say that this is one of the best Trumpeter kits for me as this is my second Trumpeter PT-76 that have built
I'll post the pictures of the other one sometime soon.
It's a very easy and light kit which contains enough details to make a PT-76 look a 'PT-76'.
Minimal accessories were added on my build as reference photos showed only plain AFV entering Prague which is unlike the appearance of russian tanks in chechnya and afghanistan which are heavily loaded with stowages.
Of particular note is the improvised placard that says the equation of the Nazi 1938 annexation and the Soviet 1968 invasion. This was inspired from an actual grafitti in one of Prague's buildings during the Prague Spring.
Two crewmen are also depicted but are not permanently attached. They are from DML and Tamiya.
Some crushed debris are also included to show the rocks that the protesters have thrown.
Cheers and enjoy comrades!
