Good report John, and congrats on your well-deserved gong. T-34 is awesome:) It was great to finally meet you guys:) Andy has our group pic on his phone, so hopefully he'll get that up soon:) ....but I will say that we did well! And we're gonna have to make some room in the MSC trophy cabinet;) It was a great show and I'll post more on it later when I have time.

Coming soon Dicky! I've got a butt load of pics, hope they turn out. Nate has the group picture of us. My report will be up soon. Andy ought to be chiming in soon. I honestly think the show has almost outgrown it venue! Maybe time to think about a bigger space. Folks attending this show are always exceptionally nice, and you simply can't find a better bunch of folks to hang in there with. I vowed that I'd not ingest any of the hot dogs again after last years show, and did do that. BUT! As the official Easter Bunny, I had to dine with all the kids, and guess what the menue was? Hot Dogs! I'm still belching the danged things hours later. Lot of good people made that show gary

John- I survived!!! You are not going to believe this... my own wife bought me some tools that I really liked. Ain't she awesome?!?!? Gary- Sorry we missed you... we were wondering if you came or not. Be sure to find us next year but we were talking about having a cook out at my place this spring if you are up for it. Guys- Hey! Sorry for being slow poke! It was definitely a great day for us MSC guys! My family and I went out to eat and celebrate my first ever 1st place winnings. Of course I hit the couch for an hour and half long nap! Then my wife and I finally got to enjoy this drink... perfect fitting to wrap up a great day. Believe me Duvel beer was freakin' awesome! I think I am going out to buy more... LOL Here's my builds I entered and gongs I brought home. I am so beat after several nights of very little sleep and Duvel isn't helping too. And I think my wife is calling me... LOL I will post more pictures tomorrow I promise but I want to post the best photo of the day... John, Clinton, me and Nate. Next year we hope to see more especially Gary and BigJohn.

It's good to hear that you survived Andy. I thought for sure she'd bash you over the head when you got home! Yes indeed, good friends and great models made for a wonderful show.I am looking forward to next years show.
Andy and I done a bit of advertising for the site at the show. Me in my stylish shirt, courtesy of Dicky and Chris B in the UK, and Andy putting out a stack of flyers about the site on the information table. Hopefully we'll pick up a few more members.

Here we go guys, I finally got back home and have spent some time with my kids so I can spare some time for an update:) We got 4-6 inches of snow today and the drive was a little slow this morning. I had a blast at this show and it was the first time that I entered a comp. It was also the first time that I was a judge for the competition, and that was a cool experience. Here's the model I won with:) It's a Revell '40 Ford Standard Coupe. I'll post more pics in the gallery later. a couple of shots of the interior that you can't see in the pics:) I won first in my category and then won Best of show out of all the cars! I was shocked:) I couldn't believe it. When I saw the plaque, I thought, Holy cow, I placed...then I saw it was first and I was tickled. Then I found out that I won Best of Show! Obviously it feels great to win, but I was just a giddy little boy again! It was an awesome day, to say the least. I didn't get many pics, due to shopping, judging, and general tomfoolery with John and Andy, but I managed to get a couple of snaps of some other dirty, crusty ones. I'm looking forward to Andy's pic upload as well. This was an outstanding show and there were a lot of amazing models in all categories. A very high standard all around. I'll post up my purhcases on the Latest Acquisitions thread:)

I saw John and Nate, and actually spoke to Nate (not knowing who he was). That Tiger caught my old eyeballs right away, and flat fell in love with that winning T34. I've watched this show grow by the leaps and bounds almost every year, and the build quality seems to always surpass the growth! For those of you that didn't make it, there's alsys some serious builds there.
By the way that Tomcat box got opened last night (too tired to be out chasing down the local female population). And I'm very well pleased so far. I will do a side by side compairison one day in the near future with the Hobby Boss kit and maybe a couple other Tomcats in 1/72 scale. I might add here that after doing a new and scarey stash count, I now see an honest 25 BF109 kits! Maybe a couple more I didn't see! I now am seriously regretting the fact that I didn't buy that Fine Molds ME410 kit!!! Anybody know how many kits were shown at the contest?
I have to try the Duvel beer even though I'm not a Belgan wheat beer fan. My current favorite is Bells Double Cream Stout, and the new Nitro Java from the Oaken Barrel (seriously good beer with a hint of coffee in it). If you have that barbeque, let me know and I'll make a garden salad, or something else. gary

Hey Rick! Like I said earlier family comes first and it was a honor to be a pall bearer. Show happens every year and we will see you next year or I will send John to drag you to the show. I think you will like it here... I consider this forum most friendly site after being part of several forums for last 4-5 years. Guys were talking about having a cook out at my place later this spring but maybe we all can meet at the Ropkey Museum to have fun!

I meant to share this with you guys earlier... too much sun and drinks here in Florida. Local club guy replied my email... final count of model entrees was 532. I think it is still great!!! you really didn't have to tell us that! I did field test my new three weight flyrod Sunday afternoon in the 30 mph wind. The wind was important to see what I could do with it, and of course I caught 12 fish. Got outta there just as the rain drops started falling. Found some interesting Sheridan parts in my ever growing stash, and I think it's time to get back on that project again. Been saying every year for the last two or three years that I'd like to enter a Vietnam based Sheridan in the show, but have yet to get one done yet. Then I find this photo of an M113a1 (or a2)parked in the mud, and my brother inlaw said he'd help me get it right. I have several kits to choose from, and Larry said none were right! Getting to be a broken hearted melodey! This board here, is as all modeling boards should be. Folks are kinda laided back and easy going. I love the idea that we have a serious group of UK modelers here as I've always felt they were amongst the best out there in general. (better than me anyway). I've always had a deep interest in RAF equipment, and lately their armor. (you Cannucks are right in there as well). This board seems to be heavilly armor orientated, and that's fits in with me. But I never knew so many guys here do automobiles! Real good ones at that!! Lastly; no weather comments please! gary
