Hi Leon!! I am sure someone who has a bit more experience with painting Braille figs will show up soon and lend some help more than I. I can tell you it is a tough scale to want to get the eyes actually painted.Usually these are too tiny and will be darkened with a wash ...which is mostly sufficient. With that, if you have figures that have real crisp features and the eyes look well enough to be attempted....splinter a toothpick (break and pull lengthwise) which will give you a durable paintbrush for this. Go for a white acrylic or just off white....after that take the tiny new paintbrush and dot the white with black or Payne's Grey. You would leave a sliver of white on at least one side. A small trick would be to off set the eyes slightly in one direction. This will help avoid the "cross-eyed" effect. OK...that was my take.....one of the fig/oil guys might be able to shed some more if not better light on this for you!!!

I know this is a month old but if your still kickin' around... I read somewhere don't bother with the eyes in braille scale. Paint your face and the the shadows and highlights. Then let a dark wash settle in around the eyes, nose and lips. Works great.

I agree with Mark, never try to paint the eyes in this scale. you dont even need to paint the whites to eyes in 35 scale let alone 72 and when people paint the whites in 35 they look like aliens.

Ah yes, that stark surprised look. You can make that work to your advantage. Remember the scene in "Top Gun" when Maverick tells his new RIO that he's going to bring the guy on his tail in closer? What about a dio with the RIO's line as the dio title... "You're gonna do WHAT?"
