Hello All, Started this project a little while ago but did not post any pics here so I will fix that right now. This is the Italeri 1:35 S.L.C. "Maiale" which was a two-man torpedo delivery submersible. The kit was simple with 47 parts over 2 sprues, 22 piece PE fret, Clear plastic for glass and decals. It went together fairly well a few fit problems that needed sorting out with a bit of sanding and putty. I replaced the rear stearing lines guide tubes with brass tubing instead of using the solid styrene pieces that came with the kit, also added in weld beads on the torpedo lifting rings in the front. Biggest pita was the fact that the piping need to be filledwhere gaps were created by the way the model was molded. Okay enough gabbing on with the pics. First shots are of the sprues and fret, etc.. Did not build up the figures maybe someday. The nice picture guide supplied by Italeri. Did not take any pics of the in-process build but here are the finished pics. Well that's is all folks, thanks for looking and as always comments welcomed. ;D Cheers, Thom

Me LIKE it!!! What about the figures? I think this will be my "ship" build because it is in 1/35 scale!

Andy: Thank you sir. Someday I will complete the figs on this and probably put it on a base, I might even do some weathering on it then too. ;D

57belair: Thank you, the kits has been out for I think a few years now. You should absolutely pick one up and give it a go. ;D T: Thank you sir always appreciated, and I think there were a few up at GraniteCon if I remember correctly. dogfish7: Thank you. Dicky: Thank you kindly sir , I am thinking of a dockside base of some kind and then to weather it up from the warhead back since to me it would seem the the warhead would be a lot cleaner than the rest of the sub since they are hopefully only used once . We'll see time will tell probably after the new year starts. ;D Cheers, Thom

Dicky: Actually only the front section is, the divers piloting the craft would remove the front piece and tie it under an anchored ship between the keels then pilot the rest of the craft away and the timed explosion would sink the anchored ship. ;D

That looks great Thom! I am not really a floaty thing (or in this case sinky thing!) kinda guy, but I really do like these mini submarines, and even in the larger scales they do not take up too much room which is nice! I agree with previous comments, it will look great done up in a little diorama, and the contrast between the "new" warhead and the "old" sub body would make for some interesting weathering results! Great job mate! Cheers, Sam
