In line with my New Year's Resolutions thread, here's the lineup of all of the offending queens...I missed a couple in the accounting somewhere, because it turns out that there are 38 of them, not 36. As you can see, some of them are pretty darn far along, and some not so much. There are a few that will most likely get tossed in the spare parts box either due to a) major construction or paint flaws or b) a much better kit being available, making resurrecting them not worth the time. Each of them had some hurdle I had to overcome to finish it (and didn't want to, or didn't know how), which I will explain when we get to the build log for each one. Definitely the biggest challenge in finishing them all. Any motivational help HIGHLY appreciated - let me know if there are any you're particularly interested in seeing build. The first victim is going to be the 1/32 Trumpeter F4F...log to be started shortly!

Holy smokes! You were not kidding about your New Year resolution! I see at least four builds with decals on already... focus on them first as they only need washing and weathering. Easy and fun!
That SW droid caught my attention!!! Is it in 1/6 scale or much bigger? My son might want me build one for him...
You need motivation? Send me your bikes and I will have them locked until you finish them all. Will it work?

SEND YOU MY BIKES??? Sorry, my friend, I would lapse into a deep no-cycling depression and no work would be done at all! Besides, it's going to take me wellllll into cycling season to get all of these done (or tossed, or given away, or...).
Part of the problem for me is that I get to the washing and weathering phase - and have no idea what to do. Seriously. If I don't have a tutorial to follow, I'm pretty much at a loss. No natural art ability like a lot of the fellas around here. If I could build and paint and then hand them off to the "experts" I would!

Oh, and the Droid w/STAP is indeed 1/6th. Great kit, can't wait to paint it! *And hand it off to one of the experts to weather it.

Here you are a motivational help: you have the chance to experiment all the weathering techniques you can think about. Think of the worse ones, the ones you'll turn to scrap, like poor guinea pigs in a lab

Hey Dupes! ;D Looks like you got almost as many as I do!LOL! ;D I'd start with the ones that need the least amount to finish. I'm in the middle of doing a bunch of my queens, finishing up some HT's right now. I really like the alligator!, my M3 is done the same way. Is that a Stuart with a Flak 38 on it? With the Wildcat, are you going with a tri color or bluegray? Now I don't feel so alone with banging queens.LOL! Pete

I can do it! I think the biggest impediment will be resisting the call of the stash.

OK, I guess locking your bikes up is not a good idea. How about this? I will take anything that are not completed when we come in early July. And yes you better finish that Druid so my boys can enjoy seeing it. LOL
And you need to change your words by the avatar from 'build, build, build, build' to 'paint' paint' paint, paint'. I think you have done enough of building for now...

Now there's a nice stack of stuff (and lots of variety!) to keep you busy finishing them up! I say set up a rotation between the different genres you've got and start knocking them down. The Star Wars stuff automatically gets a vote just because!

Dupes- I saw this quote on a motivational poster once: "If you chase two rabbits, Both will escape."
No mention of 38 Rabbits- but you get the idea. I think you need to pick one of those and box up the other 37 until #1 is done.
But if you are enjoying this "as - is" don't change a thing!

Dupes!
WOW, that is quite the lineup of queens! But, hey, with that new space that you have built yourself, you should be all kinds of motivated to tackle some of these!

Sorry for the delays in answering, fellas - yesterday was me and the wife's 1-year anniversary (yes, Boyd - that was a year ago already), and I wasn't anywhere near my laptop. And you need to change your words by the avatar from 'build, build, build, build' to 'paint' paint' paint, paint'. I think you have done enough of building for now... Haaaahahahaaaa...TOO TRUE! Part of the problem is that I do about 95% of my work here: Great little setup that lets me build (but not paint!) while I'm watching TV or movies with Mia. Hence why I'm so far behind in the airbrushing stage of most of my builds.

C'mon Dupes! You could finish that E-10 by Monday! Steve I probably could - except I have this whacked-out idea for a ridiculously cool paint scheme I want to do that I haven't been able to formulate a coherent plan for yet, despite ruminating about it for several months now. Once I figure out a way to make many many similar diamond-shape pieces of masking tape (think snakeskin pattern) I'm going to get right on it. Farina base is ready to go - along with the display base around it! - got some Nachtjager figs to go along with the IR-equipped E-10. Mmmmmmmmmm

Yeah, there's definitely some good stuff in the stack. The M61A5 (double barreled tank), the Sturer Emil, the E-10, the A-4F, the 1/32 MiG-15, the He-111...can't wait to get these beasts DONE! Definitely going to set up some sort of rotation.
Ken - which ones in particular? Hah! Check your PMs, btw.

OMG......you have got to be kidding.....control.....now as an anal planner who does not even sniff the wrapper of a new kit until the current build is complete, I am in shock....you need an intervention....you need to look at a finish line....paging Dr. Phil......
Luv u old buddy....

Mike- the strange part is that I used to be EXACTLY like that myself. Build one, finish one. Repeat. But then, in an effort to become more "efficient", I cracked into a second one to work on while the glue was drying. Then a third to do while the paint was drying. Then one more to do downstairs while watching movies...you get the picture. Just got a bit out of control.
Keep in mind that I DO finish 15+ builds a year despite the ones that fall by the wayside!
