Hi chaps.
It's me, prof, ignore the low number of posts, like a daft idjut, i deleted my account. Hey ho, shouldn't take long to get back to 1900 odd posts ;D
Just a quick one to say no more blogging for me for a while. I had a bit of a break when we had some building work done and was right up for some modelling as soon as I got the chance.
Truth is I haven't enjoyed it since i've been back which I find very disappointing as i think its still a great hobby.
Can't put my finger on it, whether its subject matter, ability or what I simply don't know so rather than soldier on continuing not to enjoy it, I have decided a break is in order.
The bench (not that I have one) will be cleared, part built kits boxed away and I have asked the mods to remove my part builds from the forum so as not to clutter the place up.
I will then use the time to decide whether i want to continue modelling or whether to hang up my scalpel for good.
Either way, you haven't got rid of me cos I will be posting against your stuff as much as I can.
M.

Hey Prof, Man, im sorry that ya lost the old "MOJO"....that must be difficult to understand...im sure. Maybe stress is the culprit? It does weird things to mojo. Anyways, were not goin' anywhere so when ya get that urge tha spark and your mojo's back in force...we'll be here ready for your new projects. Take care of yourself mate and stop by when ya can. Best wishes, Gary

Thanks Gary. To be honest, i'm cool about it. Work is a worry at the moment and things are busy at home so it's probably worked out ok.

The same story here, I had a break for about 3 months and I was preparing myself to stop as I lost the fun of it, I felt guilty to spend so much time alone in my hobby room, leaving the family in the living room. Now I have found the perfect balance between my family and the hobby, the fun came back...

Cheers guys, hope the feeling doesn't last too long. In the meantime I will concentrate my efforts on some research when I get the time.

Happens to us all prof, don't let it get to you! Getting in some research will no doubt keep the spark alive and perhaps also fuel some inspiration along the way.

You're all very kind and that's why this forum is so successful, the people.
I'm tying off some loose ends so you will see a bit of me posting against some of my stuff, then I will break from that, post against your fine work until I am good and ready to hopefully resume...

Thanks Mick. Wish I could put my finger on it but I can't.
Rather than try to analyse it too deeply, best to concentrate on getting back to normal.
Cheers buddy.

Update...
Approaching the second week in Feb and the old mojo is still on walkabout. Have been doing some reading, well actually a lot of reading and I think I can sense a possible urge to sniff plastic although it won't be for a while yet.
That said, I am really enjoying picking up advice and following the fantastic talent on the forum.
Keep it up you guys, this is still the best place to be...

Have you found a way to have a permanent bench? I wish to see some more inspiring builds from you

Thanks Luigi.
No, no permanent bench which is a shame but modelling space it would appear is available!

don't feel bad! My modeling bench is also my fly tying bench. I out grew it four years ago, and being the tightwad that I am I just kept putting that part off. I ordered in a new (and larger) top for it over the weekend, and it looks like it's going to be a month out. Then I'll be modifying it a bit for my needs. So I'm very stalled out right now with nothing but a framework for a bench! I did find a second wooden tool chest the otherday in a clean out that I don't even remember buying. It's still new in the box, and what I'll do with it I have no idea (the one I normally use is identical). I just have too much stuff gary

like i told you in the chatroom, my slump lasted 3 years. i tried to force myself to build. didnt enjoy anything and made a mess out of a couple of things. not sure yet but i think i am finally coming out of it. i enjoy working on my builds now and with the 262 i have even finally tackled the one that intimidated me.
it will work itself out. i am glad that you are staying around it though. for a while i didnt want to. forums just reminded me of my lack of enthusiasm. i found myself avoiding them as well.
when you do get your mojo back i look forward to what directions you take.

Cheers guys.
It's frustrating as I want to stick something. I unearthed a nice piece of 'loft insulation' the other day which has been calling to me for some time, I might give it a go, just not yet...
