A simple way to make old trye effects as seen on Edi's T-34 wreck.
Recently i need to reshape some rubber feet for chairs on bench grinder
Whats left after i finish the work - very fine rubber dust.... i save this dust .... will use it to give some worn look and texture to tank tyres
for this tutorial i used tyre from 1/35 AFV Club T-34 kit which is injection molded separately from the wheel, in black plastic
first sand the part with the sanding paper
then with the sharp knife make some damage on tyre......
maybe you can
stop on this step if this looks ok for your needs
now add one good layer of tamiya extra thin glue on tyre....
using an old brush add rubber dust on the tyre while glue is still fresh....
do not hesitate to add more...both...the glue and rubber dust
remove excess with soft brush
now you can see the difference in texture
now just drybrush some light color (or pigment) on the top
and now we have nice worn look of tyre.....
stop here?....if this is what you need....
otherwise proceed to the next step
two component Crackle....some Italian brand...
first component is on ...
first component needs to dry a bit......now add second component....
after some time .....be patient ...
i added light grey pigment overall (diluted paint will work fine too) and just rubbed the surface ...
we get nice worn tyre.....
i hope you like it...
