Hello All, Some might remember my Tamiya Sd.kfz 222 (original release) that I started on the old forum. Well I think I have as about as complete as she is going to be. So I thought I would post the pics here first and then move them over to the Gallery at some point. And one on the base I created for it. Let me know what your thoughts are either good or bad. ;D Thanks for looking. Cheers, Thom

It looks very nice to my eyes. The only thing that looks missing is the dirt on the wheels. Such a rich red earth is very unlikely not to stick on those dente wheels.

Why worry, each of us is wearing an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.

Hi Thom, great finish, just enough weathering to say used but not worn.

Agree with the others, some dirt/dust on the undersides and wheels will help tie it into the base. The Tamiya 222 is a kit I have found memories of, one of the first kits I built when I got started in armor.

Very nice work on the old dog Thom. The paint is great and dark the way it should be. The only thing I can suggest is to paint the tools (shovel) and the MG in the open turret. The MG shouldn't be the same color as the vehicle. Go with maybe just a drybrush with silver and that will add some variation to it with out having to do a lot of painting. The handle on the shovel in a wood color is all you need. Or just do some wood color chipping to it. Some like dust weathering like the others have mentioned will help too.
Other than that she looks great.

Thom
Love this kit, glad to see you fixed those horrible jerry cans that the kit provides. The other comments have touched on the little extras to bring it in. Looking forward to seeing it again. Nice simple base to make it stand out as well.
cheers Rossco

Dicky and Rob, Thanks for the comments guys I've changed up the shovel handle and now I'm trying to figure out how to best dust the bottom sides up (I'm new to this weathering bit) . Ross, Thanks and yes those cans were the first bits to get replaced ~lol~ I'll be posting pictures up again soon and probably a couple of the the unpainted version too. Cheers, Thom

Thanks for the idea eastrock 67 Thanks for the compliments sir, I used the AK Panzer filter and the Dark Brown Wash on it so far. Still a little more to go to bring it inline with the base. Ron Thank you for the kind words. Okay a couple pics taking in a change suggested by the Bossman.. Again thanks all for looking. Cheers, Thom
