I have recently started on my boxes of figures which the good old saint nick dropped down the chimney this will be the first 1/35 figures i have attempted to paint so be warned this could turn ugly!!!! i got a box of Tamiya frontline assault figures and a tank commander and officer from Verlinden overall the detail on the tam figs are good but the verlinden are impressive especially the heads. To clean and assemble all figures took one day the Tam figs were very easy to clean up and the Verlindens had very little to clean up on so that was a bonus. Today i started on the heads i have seen lots of sbs on painting figures and found a simple head painting guide on missing lynx by Bannerman it involves a skin colour basecoat then using oil washes for highlights and shadows i shall try this and keep posting my results For the basecoat i mixed 20% Tamiya dark yellow 20% tamiya white 30% tamiya gloss 30% rubbing alcohol then with my ab i sprayed several thin coats this will have to let it dry over night ready for the oils.
