Thanks Rob. Yeah the zimm is really good on the kit, and once it has washes on it it will pop.

Phil Just some food for thought, I belive all Elefants servred in Italy, so I don't think they would had winter white washes. But I'm no expert. Your progress is looking good. Nice clean building.

Hey BigJohn thanx man i did do some checking up on the ele and they did have one unit of them during the soviets Vistula-Oder offensive in Jan of 45 i just need to find some photos of the unit to see if any of them had a winter white wash on them. if i can't find any pics ill most likely do a three tone camo on it but thanx again for the comments on it i do appreciate them.
Chriss thanks man appreciate the kind words. your ELE looks great and i would like to compare our work it would be great thanks again.
Phil

Spud,
Did the Elefant see service in Russia? When they were originally built, they were call Ferdinand and used at the battle of Kursk. After that, they were rebuilt with a hull MG and the addition of Zimmerit and renamed Elefant and then sent to Italy.
I may be wrong, but I don’t know if any of the rebuilt Elefants were sent to Russia.

I’m sorry Panzerman, You must have posted while I was typing a reply and I didn’t see your reply.
Thanks for the info. Pretty much every thing I have read states they were rebuilt and sent to Italy. Nice to know some went to Russia.
There ya go spud, there’s our answer.

Yep Ferdi's were at kursk where most were destroyed or sent back for refit as the Eli. There were I believe just the two units and one was sent to Italy. Will have to check my ref but I believe BJ is correct....from what Little I remember these days. I may have LOTS of pics of each unit and the destroyed Ferdi and Eli's
