Hey all i have the russian armour bug at the moment and after a enjoyable JS-2 build i have decided to do something green again!!! I found a photo of what i thought was a Panzer IV under russian hands then noticed the T34 roadwheels so this is the basis for my T34 i will add some Thoma mesh armour and other bits as the build progresses also this will be part of a small dio i have named "Confusing Orders" i will try and replicate the 2nd reference photo to the best of my abilities i have found some Dragon figures that will fit the bill. The Kit. pictures for reference purposes only T34 with stolen Thoma armour Dio reference pic Dan B

Count me in on this one Dan!!! I think you should be able to nail that pic!! Very cool scene!!!!! Mr. Reid should be checking in here at some point....there is a disturbance in the T-34 Force! LOL!! He is the quintessential go to man on all things T-34. Make it happen....Might make me break out the T-34 I got on the shelf here!!!

Dan- there are more pictures of T-34's that received a similar treatment. Famous interpretations of this theme have been done by Mig Jimenez (in the Osprey book on modeling the T-34) and more recently by Adam Wilder in his Photo-etch video.
Both of the T-34's in your pictures are T-34-85's. But similar spaced armor was added to 76mm armed tanks by the Germans. Mig based his on a T-34/76.
There are so few pics of these that you can use a little artistic license- should be cool!
Have at it!
Steve

Thanks T go on get it down from the shelf you know you want to!!!! lol
many thanks Steve for the reference ideas i wanted a t34/85 but i didnt have the funds for it so i will have to make do with the 76 i have seen Adam Wilders but i will have to check Migs out.
The kit has been built last night very easy and quick build now comes the hard bit all the pe and side armour also i have added a sneaky set of Panther roadwheels to be put on the 34 pics coming soon.

I'll be building a T34/76 Mod. 1941 from next week, so I'll follow your build very interested as you will be surely faster than me. Do the germans repaint the captured tanks?

Thanks to all the positive comments boys i bought some styrofoam today so i will make a start on the base so i can adjust the roadwheels to suit the terrain pics will be up by tomorrow evening.
Bullardino: this will be a abandoned t34 in Russian colours but the Germans did capture t34s i dont think the germans painted them just markings im sure someone better then me on here can answer better.
Dicky: yes there is always room for a dopey old twonk like you mate!!! lol

After a long time with no updates on this project i have finally got round to taking some pics the t34 is near completion for the build stage so i can start on the fun bit of painting i have decided on changing a few things as my reference shows that t34 is a 85 and seeing i had a bit of luck with getting a Dragon 85 im going to use that one for this mini dio and use the 76 for a new project more on that soon. The 76 will be now painted in a german colours as a captured t34 i have added pieces of plasticard to represent some shell damage that has been plated on the hull and turret. I have textured the turret with Tamiya putty and poly cement theres still more to do on this. After using some amazing Aber grills on the 85 im thinking of getting some for this so im still undecided on that. Dan B
