Yeah, I know, I get distracted pretty easy. I signed up for the Get R done campaign on Armorama, so I thought I’d share this here as well and see if I can save this thing. Perfect excuse to keep practicing weathering. ;D I built this Tamiya M4 Sherman about 11 – 12 years ago. The sludge wash I put on it was really too heavy and made it come out really dark. I didn’t go any further with it and put it in storage. Now my idea is to mix a very thin olive drab color and over spray the model hopefully using the dark wash as a pre shade so to speak.

Thanks T. Looking at the pics, I see a missing part. Wouldn't you know it, after 12 years, I went right to the box and found the missing part. LOL
It also has a few seams I'll take care of before painting.
Thanks for looking!

Nice bid finding the missing part!! Funny how you notice things different after some time has passed. Like, "WOW, why didn't I do this" comes to mind. I'm getting comfy now!! ;D

Thanks guys!!!
Gary, Not sure what I'm going to do about the decals yet. I may just simulate the crew painting over them. Or I could fade them out, and apply a fresh star on top of them. Just something I'll have to work out.

Hey spud, Thanks for the offer, But I have plenty of extra decals here. I can find something as soon as I decide what I'm going to do with them.
BTW, the ones on there now are old Verlinden dry transfers. I think I have a sheet of Archer Stars here as well.

A little progress on this one. I found a few seams that needed filled and scraped. I also removed the dry transfer stars that where on the sides of the turret by scrapping them with a No 11 blade and then buffing out the area with some steel wool. Because of the repairs, my over spray coat had to be a little thicker than I originally wanted it to be to cover up the reworked areas. But this is fine since it’s all in fun anyway. The paint has a deferent sheen where the stars were located, but I’m more than confident this will disappear as I apply the many layers of weathering.

Spud, MM has a line in enamels and acrylics. Its also very easy to get close to that color by mixing a little XF 60 in with Tamiya OD.

Looking good in the new paint color John. Gonna look even better weathered. Green is a great color for weathering and earth effects.
