Detail bits have been painted and now added to the hull; Headlights have had lenses from the SKP set as have the tail light unit and reflectors. The flat coat on the turret top however, is not quite right- though it does look a bit like a dust coating- so perhaps a few light filters might sort that. Hey ho -we live and learn. Tracks had a basecoat of VA tank brown (perhaps a bit too dark with hindsight) and then the pads were picked out in LC deep cockpit black. Pictures to follow later tonight. Then it will be ; Tracks and sideskirts on and final weathering - probably a combination of some splatter and pigments. Only 16 months with this one... I'm getting bloody speedy here

Apologies for the quality of these pics , I'll try to get some decent ones at the weekend. As you can see the Foggy finish I was gutted about- but possibly recoverable with some judicous weathering. Also not quite sure what happened with the registration here- again- maybe recoverable Some final weathering to the running gear +/- the turret....

Cheers Squidmeister. In the flesh the "fading" is a bit more jarring- so I think I will end up with a light pigment dusting to even it out a bit. I might actually have this finished in time for our club open day!

Hi mate, I wouldn't worry about the 'foggyness' of the paintwork...I actually like it...looks used already, and further weathering should even make it even better.
Did you paint the headlights or are they plane clear parts? I think they look very good!
Cheers

Cheerrs boys. The lenses are the SKP set ( i think intended for the revelle/italeri versions but they do the job for me!

Stick with it Paul, you'll be able to recover this one for sure with some careful weathering. Sounds like you've already got a plan to roll with in that department.

Much appreciated Andy I've used the VMA Sandbeige from their ISAF paint set and also misted it lightly over the upper surfaces to bring things together a bit more and it does seem to have evened out the foggyness caused by the matt varnish- so cheers all for the encouragement on that one I have noticed however- I forgot to pick out the white on the convoy marker so I'll have to go back and sort that and a few other bits and pieces including the overspray on the tracks from the dust. I have to say I'm really excitied about how this seems to be comming to gether and also how I've been able to recovery the varnish issue - cause it really did look worse in the flesh that in the pics As always ACSVGW P

Here's a picture of the beasty at our club afternoon yesterday. Sorry for the size- but as it was taken with my phone all attempts to enlarge it resulted in a pixelfest! Actually not looking too bad in some decent light if I say so myself. Some final detailing around the backend and a very simple roadway base and it'll be done! " About bleedin' time too "I hear from somewhere...

Cheers jackwagon. Yeah a nice afternoon- I've got some more phone pics I'll post up. I'd never really noticed the size of the Tadpole until I put them both together tbh- as you say a bit of a monster. Des was there with a nice selection of his stuff- including a particularly nice Ferret Mk1

You know I never quite realized how big the Tadpole was until that side-by-side shot. Nice to see them together there Paul.

Last pic came out great... you did very nice job applying camo. Like Marc said, I never realized how huge its turret it... as big as the hull!
