super build there. Always fun to se the primer and Paint go on.
If I may ask , you , ore other in this tread. I will soon start on my dragon Nr. 9045, Pz.Kpfw. V Panther Ausf. G "Night Fighting Panther.
I could use some pointers towards what barrel to pick up for that set. thanks

Nice built and paint job, the green camo is OK. The colors are light, perfect for weathering because that darkens the color a bit.

The pin wash is done along with two filters paint fading 2 and general aging from true earth did some chipping with my new ak rust set nice chipping color and did some chipping with the base coat a bit lighter to show some lighter chops and scratches The two tank art books I picked up are really helping out I slowed way down and focused on each panel not done with this stage thanks for the comments it has been crazy of late in my end with work and life iam starting a new job in September at the us postal service in fleet wrenching on the mail trucks

First round of the chipping done going to do some oil painting ect and more weathering and filters with the true earth so far the stuff works great I used the light aging and paint fading 1 and 2 on it Sorry for all the late reply on this thread and other post everyone has some great stuff going on I got a new job at the us postal service as a mechanic so I have been busy with that I have a question about German barrels is it true that they were primed in gray so the chipping would be gray not the rust color

Apologies , I meant to answer the question in my last post ..... apparently the barrel was painted in a heat resistant grey paint . The only reason I now this is because I once posted a colour photo of a Dark Yellow Hetzer with a grey barrel. Managed to get loads of feed back on that pic hth

Thanks for the comments guys and getting back to me about the barrel question I thought I saw your post on hear and one on armorama so gray chipping it will be OK one more question will their be any recoil marks on the barrel by the mallet and would it be steel or gray
|
|
|
Post by wbill76 on Nov 4, 2013 21:14:09 GMT -5
Just to add to Deano's answer, the heat-resistant lacquer used on the barrels as a primer was a very dark gray...almost black in color. You would not see any recoil marks or bare steel on the barrel where it extends from the mantlet, it didn't make any contact with the mantlet and would recoil smoothly inside the turret. HTH!
