I started Ya-12 from MiniArt in 1/35 scale. Great model to build. I didnt spent too much time on lower parts. Few images of cabin in this stage of building. You can see how it looks like.

It's interesting to see how, in many ways, the Russians were like the Germans in terms of adapting existing hull/chassis designs to different purposes. Seing the light tank chassis used as a tractor makes perfect sense given the terrain/environment of the Eastern Front. Looking forward to seeing this one get combined together!

@ wbill76 : You are right, there are too many same designs on both sides. Spies were doing their job great

@ joelsmith: This A.T. gun was also used without chassis, as an ordinary field gun. That's why I had idea for ranging poles.

@ eastrock, bullardino: This model is great, it has so many details that can scare you when you open the box for first time and see instructions but it's assemble very easily, like Lego ;D
Parts fit perfectly.

Ok, cargo space is finished. I`m not sure will I leave it like it`s on the pictures or should I put canvas, it depends on figures that I'm going to use. Lower part is painted in field green. I started with engine painting. Update soon

I'm enjoying the build of the Ya-12 too, it's a sweet little kit that needs only some attention due to the softness of the styrene.

You're going light speed, what colour will you paint the engine?

@ bullardino: I used Vallejo luftwaffe uniform mixed with white and oily steel. Later chipping is made with german grey. I will use AK washes for finalisation of engine but it will not be visible when I finish this model. I dont have in plan to make it open

Model is painted with Tamiya NATO green, (C.M. made by adding few drops of yellow). Here are few pictures how it look with canvas and without it. I have to admit that both looks are very interesting and it will be hard to choose which one will be final.
Little accident happened during photo session, I broke p.e. part on right fender, but nothing serious.
