I figure it's about time I got my lazy butt back to the bench. I started this mid last year and got into the lost mojo thing. Here is what it looked like when I started yesterday. The build part is done and is now primered. Originally I wanted to do the whitewash thing but I've been having second thoughts. Would it look too goofy in Panzer Gray and still use the winterketten tracks? Decisions decisions......

No problem with the tracks being used. They worked just as well on soft or muddy ground John.

Nice to see this one come back online! Tony's right about the tracks, they don't 'require' a white wash finish IMHO and you could just as easily have them fitted to a PG without whitewash.

I must agree that its good to see you getting back in the saddle John . I was looking down thru the armor threads and there you is ! I'd say at this stage of you getting your building mojo back you should build it the way that will be the most interesting for you . Sounds like your idea is correct anyway . Man , i'm feeling good to see you getting started again !!! Those tracks look real cool .

We have paint! Got the base coat on and did a bit of post shading. I think I might have went a bit overboard there but hopefully it'll all blend in after I give it a filter, wash, rinse, spin, dry and all that. I have some of the burnishing fluid for the Friuls but didn't want to use it yet so I just painted them up. Lots and lots of work yet to do. Here is how it's sitting now:

Paint job looks good! Not to worry, once you start the weathering, it will all blend.
Tracks look pretty sweet too!

Looking great buddy! Wait until you use those AK products... you will like the result. Just close your eye and feel the AK force... just remember what Mig has taught us at his workshop in Auburn. LOL
I see you have switched to Vallejo paint now... not Tamiya anymore?

Bill and Chris, thank you and thanks for looking in!
Andy, I'm trying to remember all the stuff from the seminar. Good thing I've got the FAQ book and the weathering magazine! Nope, still use the Tamiya. The Vallejo is just for hand brushing things.

Bit of an "oh crap" moment. After putting the decals on I did something stupid. I brushed on some MM Acryl dullcoat. Big mistake! Near as I can figure the Acryl dullcoat isn't as flat as the basecoat paint. Should have just sprayed the whole thing with some lusterless flat. Now I've got shiney spots. It has now been sprayed with the lusterless flat but you can still see the difference. Time for some creative dusting with pigments!

John,
You could always try applying a coat of Future or Gloss to create a uniform surface, then respray the Lusterless Flat to even things out?

Was thinking alike what Bill said. I don't think it will not do any harm. It is really looking great! I really dig the hanging winter kitten tracks on the side!!!
