This is the 1993 release , kit 35169 . The kit is a build already in progress , dang near finished actually . I'm finishing up on the painting and weathering now . I thought i would review what is finished so far . One of the modifications i made was to add the weld bead around the bow M.G. housing . Its missing on the kit . Here's the real McCoy. I cut out a groove around the housing with the tip of a small file by dragging it around the housing . After applying liquid glue in the groove i added the weld beads with the tip of the same file by pushing it into the pre softened plastic .I also added some casting marks in the housing with the edge of an #11 blade . Brushed liquid glue over it all to smooth out the roughness.

From the look of the detail you've added to that MG mount, this will be one nice KT Great improvement over the kit offering

Thanks guys for looking ! I was up till late ...please , no simpathy moans .........yeah right ! Ok, now that i'm done whining i'll attempt to post more pics if photobucket will give me a break .....hmmm , more whining ? I also added weld beads using Bondo glazing putty ........that red / orange stuff . I used the tip of a plastic putty knife to get the beads effect . Heres the real thing . By the way here's the bow m.g. housing thingy .

Dunkelgelb = Tamiya XF 60 . Olivgrun and Rotbraun mixed from Model master colors . Decal applied over a coat of Future .Several more coats of Future over the decal . After curring i sanded the the Future smooth to eliminate the decal ridge . Final coat of Future .

Casting number on gun mantlet . I made it with the part numbers off of sprues . I stuck a gun barrel in it from RB models . Leaving this one in gray primer .

Hi Carl, that is a sweet King Tiger build! I've never seen that done to the decals before, it work beautifully. Great work with the welds and surface texture, and the paint so far.
Cheers JT
