I finished my other project , building shelves for my stash of models . So i finished up fixing the track run on the right side and retouching the weathering that messed up due to the handling . After this i should be able to move on to finishing up the hull . I havent been happy with the look of my pics . Colors look washed out , so picked up some black foam board to use as a backdrop and i lowered the wattage of my incadescent light bulbs from 100w to 60w .

KT's looking very nice there Carl, every camera's different depending on the light and settings as to what it 'prefers' for background colors...then throw in monitor differences and you can get all kinds of interesting results when it comes to digital photography! Darker background does indeed make a difference but only you have the model 'in hand' to compare to. Keep up the good work!

Wow , my thread slipped back to page 2 ! Busy place , lots of cool buids going on here bout . I did some more weathering with Mig pigments . Also did some simulated chipping with colored pencils . I wanted to show chipping where the red primer shows thru . Some chipping is down to the metal and i figured that could be rusted . also wanted to show the red oxide primer showing thru in areas of wear . I left the area on the deck where the turret will set mostly primer red around the opening .Figured this area wasnt painted after the turret was set on the hull at the factory . Right exhaust stack shown as if it got smacked and bent over .. Shackles were left in primer . Figured the originals were lost . New unpainted nuts on the bolts . Chipped paint on the glacis from small arms fire and on the lower lip from driving thru building rubble . You know how many times i edited this ? Seven !!!!

Great looking KT on its way here methinks Photo editing is a PITA, I've managed to get mine down to a few stages in Elements, crop it, resize pixel count pic for photo-bucket and forum, auto levels to balance it , auto colour correction to remove the yellow from indoor light and finally unsharp mask at a low setting to firm up the edges.... Phew! onto the next one ;D

John , thanks man . Bill . yup . i'm going to tone down the white dust look . Its been bothering me and i think thats my problem with the pics . Pretty sure it came from to much matt finish . When i brush the Migs over it everything gets whiter . I'll dry a dry misting of Future to seal it . ;D

Hi Carl, your Tiger is looking mighty impressive!! The finish is getting some real depth!
Regarding the photos, do they come out more yellow than the real thing? Depending on your camera you might be able to match the white balance to the lights. I'm not sure I'm no camera expert i just know how to make mine do it! (With some cursing and frustrated ruffling thru the manual.)
Keep up the good work mate! JT

Boots , camo one of the things i like most about German WW II armor and aircraft . Brembo , good that your here . Marc , now thats cool man ! Thanks . i'll use that . John T, about that camera . Yup , the yellow is from the incadescent lighting . I adjusted the Cannon Sx40 HS for the tungsten . However the pics came out with so much of an opaque white that the camo under it was hardly visile . I used several ISO setting also . Moved the lights , etc. So i did that mist of Future over the matt finish and it helped a lot . I still get the yellow tones because of the incadescent lifhts . For now i'll have to stay with the swing arm lamps and get some of those CFL lights soon . Thanks for the concern ! I'm listenin .
