G'day, just thought I'd share my in-work 222. Its been a while since I got a chance to work on it, and to be honest I just need to finish the figures and some detail painting. Uploaded with ImageShack.usI have added some weld seams, and resin and home made stowage. Figures are a mix of Dragon and Tamiya. Feel free to chime in with any comments as I am trying to learn something new with every build. Cheers, Brett T

Ah Ha! After starting initial assembly back in 2010 I have finally decided that this one is finished. It was a freebee kit that I experimented with and tried learn something new. Please excuse the photography as I only have a point and shoot and am still getting the hang of it. Also I'd like to invite any and all feedback - it's the only way to learn so let rip in with any observations. Cheers, Brett T

Better late than never! Very nice work on the base. Like the stowage on the 222 too! If you really want feed back, I have only one... tone down the paint on uniforms as they look shiny. Just spray or brush flat clear... easy and fun! Everything else looks great!

I think I'll add more base and try again. Cheers Brett

Nice job Brett!! Best things....Free, Fun, Done!!! Nice work on the figs too!! Yup flat...lol...read that somewhere also!! What's up next? Too true! Free 1/35 armour kits was a dastardly plan by a mate of mine to tempt me away from sci fi builds. It worked too as I have developed a peculiar taste for 8 wheels and have amassed a reasonable stash. Next up is another bench queen- a Revell Venator Star Destroyer complete with fibre optic lighting. Cheers, Brett

That sounds like and interesting project all the way!! I have not touched a lot of SciFi as of yet. I am catching some pressure from a couple friends to hit one within the SW realm so I will be looking at some point!! Some "individuals" of the MSC persuasion have bated me into a couple builds here and there...they ended up being the most fun I have had in a while and the projects don't come out half back...well, my opinion!! LOL!! Bring on the Star thingy!!!

The beauty of SF projects is that you don't have to worry too much about accuracy and can get on with building but can still come out with awesome results. I can't wait to get back to my stash of Macross Valkyries or this very reason. I started a new thread for the Venator in the Sci-Fi thread hereDupes, the pointing soldat is from the Tamiya German Panzer Division"Front Line Reconnaissance Team" (see below) set with a new resin helmeted head and hand. The crew is from one of the numerous Dragon tank crew sets.

Very nice indeed, I agree with the rest it does need a decent matt finish but the figures are superb as is the mud, very life like

Thanks Geek, I think I know what you mean which is why I wasn't too worried about the slight satin considering I was going for a miserable wet day kind of look. The shine shows up a lot more under the light I used for the photos but I tink I'll hit the figures with a flatter finish as well as some parts of the 222 and leave it at that.
The kit is indeed the old Tamiya clunker WITHOUt the new PE and turned barrel.
