Right chaps here is another build that is currently under construction i started this build on the weekend of the last MSC outing when i found this kit for £10 some bits were missing and had been started lucky for me the drive sprockets had only been started a few bits were missing so i have scratched some of the missing pieces for this build i closely followed JT's fantastic MK IV and Roger Hurkmans took ideas from both builds this project will not be finished for a while as i am slow!!!! and the paint scheme for this is a complicated one . I found some amazing photos of some test MK IV's from Ospreys new book i can not find anything on the net about these vehicles so im inventing a few ideas. Im going for a raw steel finish as i have not seen this done yet to a MKIV in the model world (i have not seen anyway ) a few items on the tank will have paint to break up the steel look also i need to find some ww1 fuel cans if anyone can track these down i would be eternally grateful well here goes !!!!! Construction: the kit is very standard so i added a few scratched items i will let the pics do the talking as this has been done before The gun sponsons are under construction as the roof and floor parts were MIA from the box i will be scratching these im using the kit gun barrels as funds are low these took some cleaning up but are good enough for me resin tracks and grabs and rivets will have to be bought at some point i will update on this when i get them. Primer time i used Halfords rattle can black primer . Then i made a start on creating the raw steel process it takes a while but i love it i used Tamiya acrylics Base colour Flat Brown, German Grey and a hint of Buff this was lightly applied to let the black primer to show through as a shadow. 4 coats of Hairspray was applied through my AB once dry i mixed up a light bluey grey for the steel colour using white, sky grey and flat blue this was highly thinned and random patches were sprayed on the panels this was left for an hour before i started chipping and scratching... This was then sealed with Vallejo matt varnish and left to dry over night ready for the rust colours once dry 4 coats of HS was applied. For the rust i used red brown, yellow and red to make 2 shades of orange this was mainly sprayed over the dark areas mainly then i chipped away at the edges of the orange to loose the sprayed on look. this is where im up to at the moment more to come soon...... I wonder just why one of the better companies don't come out with a series of WWI armor? ?? The market is wide open Tony

Many thanks for the comments everyone the side sponsons Dicky fit really nice and i have left them off so i can create a different effect of steel to break up all the panels for this style of painting it makes it easier to paint it seperate when it comes to handling im now using latex gloves as i have had issues with Tammy paints leaving fingerprints!!!!!! the only real problem might occur when i get round to fitting the tracks i will have to mask up the sides just in case any glue decides to get where it shouldnt. Very nice work on a great subject Dan! The paint work is superb as is the choice of finishes. I'll have to join the crowd here in reference to WWI and between war models. I'd like to do some, but there's not much available except expensive resin, or poorly done small company kits.
