I'm not quit getting the hang on the Vallejo brand. Not sure what it is, but I had to ad a thinn layer of tamiya primer to really get a good base. Where I had not apply'd mr surfacer on the tank, the vallejo primer could be easily removed with the tip of my nail. So here it is at the moment. The kit it self was ok. Some unclear steps along the way,and some korky misstakes from my side. The track links in the kit was a pain to work with, but I'm not sure it's worth a Friul kit either , so any cheaper, better than box tracks recommendations would be great.

Looking very nice! Can't beat that value out of the box for a blowout sale pickup!

Thanks all. well fast scratch, not sure about that :-) Anyway,I went on after primer and the hull red mix , and seald it. I usually mix some tamiya clear and flat base to a thin mix to do that. Then I wanted to do some salt chipping. Done it several times before, but this time it kinda backfired. After applying the yellow coat, and removing the salt , I got these nice white salty spot's arround where the salt had been. uho, so , let it dry over night and I went one with a new layer of 'primer red' . Then , no more salt, but broke out the AK bottle. Layd down a layer of it and let it dry. But that made it almost worse, hehe. Big white spot's were the salt had been. So in the end I lay'd down another coat of yellow and that helped. so chipping will have to be the old way , sponge and pensil.

The green and brown were done with vallejo. Green ordinary , wich I had to thin out my self, and the brown was vallejo air, just pop it into the the AB. That worked much better than the green. Is the AK paint the same ore is it another mix. I find it much more easy to work with tamiya, but that's maybe coz I have a cheap AB.

ahh, maybe a tad to much water on the model to secure the salt, I went light on water but maybe the table salt was no good, you see those smalles ones, they made, almost like a bleaching , on the the yeallow layer.

Thanks, glad you folks like it. It may not be spot on, but I'm not going after any serten markings/unit and so on , so I just loaded the AB and had free hand go at it.. Usually I go wery light, mixing the colours thin, but this time I went strong, and just lay'd down a really thinn layer of buff after . Some wash's will make popp a little more again later :-)

Yeah slat for small chipping I usually avoid. I use the brush or sponge for wear and tear type chipping and leave the salt for wrecks and burn outs. Streaks and washes, brings life to a model eh.

So I used the Schurtsen that came with the kit to do a little practice with the chipping fluid from AK. Base is hull red, then seald. AK fluid and then a mix of tamiya dark yellow and AK yellow from the late war C set . then seal again, more AK fluid, and let dry. Add some light camo again with AK from the late war set , and chip again. The AK colour came of really easy compared to the tamiya, may be the light coat, ore short drying time :-) sorry for the poor pic's, flash was working 'against' me ..
