mmm...got an even better suggestion: it belongs on modelling shows so the big audience can see it in the flesh, 'cause nothing beats seeing a model in the flesh (still talking about MILITARY models ey ;D)
Cheers

T, d*mn...busted ! Thanks fella ! Wouter, thank you mate, those are very kind words ! DickyF, thanks buddy, I agree...but far away from your masterpieces of art then ! Wouter, I will give this one a shot the coming events, OK ? Here I have for you an update of the trunk painting : After priming the trunk, a wood color was sprayed on. The wooden planks were then masked. Then... Next to do is the finishing of the wood, then I will go for the iron parts. Best regards ! G.

Hi T and Rob, today I had so much fun, the trunk is the last big part to finish ! This reference pic inspires me a lot for the finishing of the wood (colors) : Only for reference purposes ! Now I let it rest and tomorrow the weathering continues...

Hi there Boots, as said before, all credits go to Rob's magnificent SBS on this method, I can only repeat it here. Thanks mate ! I've applied an oil wash as a first step to finish the wood. The photo was taken with artificial light, a better impression (daylight) will follow soon. Tomorrow another update, I'm gonna beat the hell out of this trunk. G.

Thanks ChrisS, I like the faded green with a bit of blue too, it matches well with the variety of rust tones.

multicam and Legend, thanks guys ! This pic tells me I still have a lot more to do on the trunk. The wood must have a dry, almost grey look in places, details need to be picked out... Nothing happened meanwhile, I took this photo to see how it looks in daylight. Of course the trunk isn't glued to the chassis yet. Best regards ! G

johnt, spud, thank you !
There's still a lot to do and tomorrow I'll try to do the painting of the exterior of the trunk.
I go for a very faded yellow look and much rust.
Next week I hope to receive my photo etched oak and birch leaves. The Dodge will be given an autumn setting.
Best regards ! G.
