Well I'm fully aware of the brilliant AFV Club kit, but since I have the old Academy/Tamiya Centurion lying in my stash with a fair amount of AM set's and would hate to throw away a unbuilt kit and AM sets . I thought why not give it a shot and see what can come out of it . This is what will be used to make a Centurion Mk.3 during the Korean war . The kit: Etch + 20 pounder gun: Legend resin tracks: Progress so far, hatches been opened and preparing for detailing. Hull compared to oob hull: Turret comparison: ACW.

Nothing wrong with old kits they only need some TLC and aftermarket stuff and when painted most people do not see its a old version of the Centurion

Then it will join the Korea GB jackwagon . A small update, the Mk.3 trackguard stowage lids did get some beating as can be seen in photos, so it sort of got out of hand and I decided to open them and are working on new lids and bottoms ;D. I said it was small ((LOL)) ;D ACW

Some further progress . Since the kit was originally made to be equipped with an small electro motor just like a toy , they did that when I was a kid ((LOL)) ;D. So some changes had to be done to the running gear. This is what the idler normally would be attached to. This is how it ended up a bit closer to the actual vehicle. The drive sprocket. And a test fit . ACW.

Sorry Chriss missed you there , thanks mate You are welcome Chris good to have you along mate. Yes the Centurion thats a TANK in every sense of the word , after we got the Leopard 1 we used to say that if you hadn't driven a Centurion you weren't a real tank driver (the Leopard's are so easy to drive that we said you could learn a monkey to drive ((LOL)) ;D). I have actually driven the Leopard 1 with a broken wrist so I could only use one hand .

I'm with Prof...consider myself pretty familiar with most of the kits that are available out there, but I have NEVER seen an Academy Centurion!

Prof & Dupes thanks lads good to have you along, no wonder you didn't know about the Academy Cent it's a real oldie it was one of the first kit when Academy started up, all their kits where "copies" of Tamiya kits .

Progress a bit slow working on all the small bits right now . Anyway here's a small update . "Escape hatch" (it's actually not an escape hatch, it's there because the 17 pounder on the earlier marks when the barrel should be changed had to be pulled out backways through the rear of the turret, the 20 pounder and later the 105 mm could be changed from the front, I would not have wanted to escape that way anyhow since the radio set sat in front of the hatch .) at the rear of the turret. Loaders hatch ACW
