Looking great Gary! You are definately kicking butt here! The radio looks beautiful and the wiring is great as does the gun. Keep it up! This kit kicked my butt when I attempted to build it a couple of years ago when I'd only been a modeller for 18 months or so - I was waay to unskilled to attempt something like this and I knew it! As a result I started dreading the thought of sitting down at the worbench knowing how hard I was finding it - it's a complicated build all right! I assembled the gun just fine and still have the entire gun and surrounding shield assembly ready to use. I know that will come in handy eventually! I also assembled the two fighting compartment walls like you have and got the radio in place - I kept them too and the radio got used on a 'quickie build' old Tamiya Marder II as the kit came absent a radio assembly. That looked real good. Now I've got two years building and detailing/PE experience under my belt I'd LOVE to try the standard Dragon III M version as the whole radio thing is something I have yet to do a lot with and obviously it plays a key part with this kit. Great job, keep it up and more photos! Ya da' man, Gary! Ben

Thanks Brother Luigi! Thanks Ben! I completely understand what ya mean....its kickin' my A$$ a bit, but im not gonna let it get me down.....much . Im not sure what i did wrong while building the gun, but good greif...i was ready to throw it at the wall and see if it went together as it hit the floor. Finaly, after cutting a couple things, moving and reattatching, it finally came together good enough. Its slow go but im hoping it will pay off in the end. Gary

Hello fellas. I sure appreciate all the wonderful comments and your suport as well. It helps kep me pluggin' away at this Marder. I dont know if i got a bad kit or im just confused by the instructions....probably both, but this kit is kickin' my A$$ in parts not fitting properly and having to cut this, sand that, break this part and reposition clean and reglue......UUUUGGGGHHHH!!! The radios was easy compaired to alot of the kit so far. One more thing....ive run into something on the top of the breech block as i was building it. Its like the plastic had some kind of imperfection or maybe impurity may be a better word. Ive never seen anything like it. The Tamiya thin cement would not affect that spot...the plastic there would not soften. wish i would have taken a pic of it before repairing and paint as its hard to describe. Anyone understand this...maybe has seen this before? Thanks, Gary

I'm the first to understand you, sometimes a kit doesn't work with but against you ! I experienced the same feelings with my Comet tank build, as for example many of the the p&d nuts'n bolts desintegrated from the model 's pe fenders. One day it drove me so crazy I tossed the entire thing in the bin (and removed some pe parts out of my hands). If you get focussed on the bad things the build is no longer enjoyable. That won't happen to me no more...and only last weekend I bought another Bronco Comet. I still have the Friuls of the first model.

Think you talkin bout the plastic imperfection aint you bro ? I've seen that but thankfully not for a while .Bad plastic bead i suppose . Sounds like you got around it ok . Didnt you ? If all else fails get a bag of Cheetos ! Listen to me man ! It will force you to take a break and slack the frustration . I mean you cant build anything with all of that yellow greasy dust on your hands can you ? Besides , eating Cheeto's is fun ! I know you know that bro ! ;D

Man that's some top-notch detail work on those radios Gary! Very nice. I've encountered the problem you've described once before but on an Eastern European kit...never with DML. Just a bad mix of the styrene for that part of the mold shot I reckon. I solved my issue with CA gel at the time, was the only thing that would hold!

Many Many thanks my friends! Bill, you pretty much nailed it. i cut the raised area off and smoothed it as good as i could and scratched the little pieces from styrene and ca glued in place. Looks ok i reckon. Ill try and remember to snap a pic of it next update to show the area. Gary

Hi Gary, It's interesting to see that you are experiencing a few small 'issues' with the plastic. I didn't mention it before as I didn't want to run your kit down BUT when I had the sidewalls and hull in place and fixed I cleaned the surfaces like I ALWAYS do and primed and then painted the DY basecoat. When it came to fropping the gun assembly in it was a tight fit - not mega tight but it didn't exactly 'drop into place'! One thing I noticed was that the primer (Tamiya) was chipping off the build quite badly - it actually looked like there paint hadn't taken and was lifting off? Keep an eye out for this buddy - I'm sure it was all down to my noob inexperience and I messed something up but keep an eye out all the same. I definately did notice some serious fit issues that you are obviously now seeing too I thought it was a complicated kit because I was a relative newcomer to the hobby but now you say it's kicking YOUR a$$! This kit must be a monster if you are having problems Keep it up - you'll be fine Oh, btw - MORE PHOTOS (please)! Ben

Thankya Dupes! Ben, thanks buddy! I dont have any paint and primer issues as i always clean my surfaces with alcohol. I also use lacquer thinner with my tamiya paint. The Gun...wow what a BEEEEOTCH!!! Never had that much trouble with an assembly like that. There have been other issues some of which Bill gave me a heads up...and he was correct! Im slowly chippin' at it and i wont give up and i wont cut corners. Ima get-er-done Ben! ;D Update pics!!!
